Ok. I'm stunned. One of my summer students who knows of my love for pachislo told me that she saw some machines. Well, I couldn't believe it, so I went to check.

Right there on the shelf, 4 machines. Arraking, Mephisto, Babel, and one other I can't recall.

Where you might ask...? ACE Hardware. (National ACE downtown for you Milwaukeeans)

ACE. For Pachis. I just can't wrap my brain around that. I know they have weird stuff (it's an OLD hardware store), but pachis?

Hanging above them was a sign. "Regular price $799.99, SALE $299.99" So no deal to be sure, but I was still very suprised.

Yeah, that's true. Though I feel sorry for the sucker who thinks that they're getting a deal at $299.99. But I suppose that goes for anything one buys; I ALWAYS shop around before I buy. I've lost a couple of good deals that way, but I've saved so much on all sorts of things....

I had hoped they'd have the machines plugged in, but they didn't and wouldn't. I wanted to play the Arraking since I haven't touched one of those before.

The ArraKing is a fun machine, but put on earmuffs before you play it!

LOL I think that about a lot of my machines. Luckily I'm handy and have already installed resistor networks in all of my machines to fix that whole volume dealy. I also installed computer style electrical jacks on all the machines so when I move them around I don't have to worry about the cords since they unplug. And nice switches on my machines with transformers so I don't catch my house on fire.... And looking for more projects. hehehe

I don't recall which machine it was, but at 7MileFair this weekend (showroom of 7MileSlots) there was one machine that was VERY loud. Just on token entry and reel stops I actually stopped playing it because I thought it was annoying. And that's in a warehouse type location with hundreds of people to muffle the sound!

I was at my Jewel/Osco food store and they had about 10 Pachislo's. At $199. I think they were all Japanise maybe 2 were American. They were all low end kinds I did not see any good ones. Also the were in bad shape. They sold them last year at about this same time but they were nice and clean.
