Expect bulk imports to be delayed for most of 2021
There’s a massive amount of newer games (and 1/2 million Pachinko balls) we picked up in Dec and learned (the hard way) there’s no containers of any size and no ships available. We’re still another month out just in our case (with nearly 3x the cost). Shippers are happily breaking contracts with regular customers who have agreements to ship specific volume per month because they can demand substantially more money and everyone is paying it. I was told this will carry on for most of 2021 before global trade in Asia normalizes.
The green below represents container ships. You can’t even see Japan. These ships are fully booked going back and forth at least 5 times already.
