    Default Received My Token Dispenser

I got my dispenser in the mail today and i have to say this is the coolest thing. IMO its almost a must have, no more just letting my tokens lay around in the token trays now they're all in the dispenser and as soon as i can figure out how to hook it up to work with a button ill be able to push a button and instantly get 50 tokens

I roll my tokens. I was looking at a North American bill changer to dispense tokens and the NorthAmerican ones are just too huge. I could have an industrial ice maker in the same spot.

I am kind of shopping for one of the stainless steel casino change carts. I am sure with vegas going ticket in/out there has to be a number of these gathering dust.

i was going to order a change cart when i wanted the more american casino look instead of the japanese parlor look and they cost about 400 plus shipping which was a lot due to the weight.

I have a mixture of both kinds of machines. I think your token dispensor idea is cool but don't have that many friends who carry around Yen. I roll because I want to give out a set number of tokens to each player then we can compare winnings (or more likely losses) later. With the button approach you really arn't able to meter whats been handed out in the same way.... cool none the less.

Nice and compact too only about 6 inches wide and same height as a machine.

Is there anyone who might be able to tell me how to get this machine to work by being able to push a button and have tokens come out?

Without a good schematic I would be hooped....

I would go to Happ controls. They carry a lot of nice buttons.

Look for some test button internally that you could just parallel the wires.

There is probably also a solinoid that gets activated when all of the bill validation gets done that pushs or retracts to dispense the tokens. if you find this you can probably measure the voltage across the top of it and then take a tap off of something (or transformer) that has the right amoung of voltage ... run that across the button then on to the solinoid. You might want to put a dioid in line with the existing circuit so the button provided voltage won't travel back into the machine and damage any of the electronics.

Any parts I identify are my assumptions and not those of a knowledgeable person!

Here's a pic of the acceptor circuit board:

    http://compirate.home.mindspring.com...s/P6170002.JPG

The acceptor itself has no circuitry. There is another board below this one but I think it is the power supply. The chip with 'EMS5 A006' is an eprom. It could have the instructions for the acceptor and for the counting and accounting. There is a red and a blue button on the front that tell how much money it has taken in and how many tokens have been dispensed. The little orange rectangle is a relay and the black circular thing at the bottom right is a coin battery to retain memory. I just don't honestly have the nerve to disassemble and test anything yet.

This is a pic of an ems-7 but they're pretty close and exactly the same size

My guess, if Japanese coin-op stuff is similar, and from the pic(s) that were posted earlier, I think you may be able to get a 25c mech and replace the bnlack coin mech at the top so it would take a quarter to dispense those tokens :-)... or there should be a microswitch directly inder where the coin would travel down, which probably activates the machine... just put these into a connection with a NO switch and you are in business!

Unfortunately, these take 1000yen notes, not coins. A coin mech would be very easy to fool (slugs or a switch). Also, I think the acceptor and counting circuits are on the same board. Just have to figure out how to tell the counter that a note has been accepted correctly.

The second white connector down on the right is the acceptor connection. It has 9 pins. There are 2 optical sensors(2 receivers/2 transmitters) and 2 magnetic pickups. Of the 9 connections, at least 2 power the transit motors (bill in/out and the stacker) then the power and transmit lines for the sensors. There are also 2 switches to tell when a bill is inserted.

The easiest thing you could do is just switch on and off the hopper, maybe with some circuitry with a 555 timer chip or something so the hopper runs for x number of seconds then shuts off. Not as precise as the counter that's built in but still dispenses. I have a couple more 1000 yen notes coming so that'll be 4 total. I'll figure out how to counterfit these puppies yet! (Do they have a Japanese Secret Service?)

The trick with copying is getting a really good scan of the bill (both sides), finding a paper transulcent enough for the opticals to read through, then obtaining a MICR toner cartridge to print the '1000' so it can be picked up by the magnetics. The optical sensors only read a very narrow strip but I have found that the bill can be inserted in any orientation and be read so it must have several 'pictures' in it's rom to work this way. No, I'm not wanted by the FBI, it's just interesting what you can find on the internet if you take the time to look!

For a easy way to get tokens out without any rewiring, all you have to do is pick up the token dispenser turn it upside down and shake.

You'll probably get more than 50 at a time, but hay no rewiring.

You have lots of wires in/out. Some will be power in, others will just come live during a valid transaction. If you follow them they are probably connected to the token release mech.
