Cut off and strip back the female end of any standard extension cord. With the bare ends of the cord, twist them together with one of each lead coming from the transformer. Wire nut these twisted wires to protect them from shorting against each other or something else.

And of course make certain the male end of the extension cord is not plugged into the wall when you do this.

That's right. It's AC (alternating current) no polarity to observe.

You can buy the cord with a plug on end and open wires on other.
3 prong the green is ground.
make sure the wires you are using is on the correct side of the transformer.
Most transformer say on top what color is output, as in your 24V out put.
Replace the ones on input 100V or 120V.

to the metal part of the machine and under one of the screws of the transformer.
On the back of most machines you will see intered laced about a green wire screwed to different parts. This is the wire you want to conect to by hooking to any metal piece.
That way if it shorts out it go to ground.
