I was thinking a nice bright sunny day might help if left in it a few hours, not sure as I don't know so before I step on my dongle I thought of asking here, ty..
There’s not really a good way to fix smoke residue on the inside on the 2 panes of glass; besides buying a costly replacement (if you could even find one) maybe somebody has a parts machine with a dead screen or something you could get the glass off of. I had a Sankyo Victory frame with that issue; it was really clouded/ugly lots of cigarette tar damage on the frame itself too. I tried to pry the outer pane out of the plastic frame but ended up breaking the outer glass; of course then I could simply windex the problem away.

Not an ideal solution to break the outer glass; but if it’s the only other option… you don’t need 2 panes of glass at home anyway unless you have problems with family members cheating with magnets. An unlikely scenario.

It looked way better without clouded glass!

    Welcome to the forums!

Looking at your picture I see a "49", so using the info I found online some time ago below, yours was manufactured in 1973.

Rectangular and circular tags show the year the machine was certified by using the Shōwa year. You may find the numbers 49 and 6 in small font on a sticker for example. The 49 is not 1949, but the Shōwa year 49. The conversion is simple. Add 1925 to the number. In this case, 1925 + 49 = 1974, so the tag indicates 1974. That means the machine was likely manufactured in 1973 because 1974 is when it was to be removed from the parlor.

The piece of wire you're referencing appears to be fine, see my picture below.
