Default Finally got my old Nishijin out of storage...

As a kid, I knew how every lever worked, but that was 30+ years ago. It still seems to work, but it’s only got a couple of balls, so I can’t really tell yet. It definitely needs a good cleaning.

Any recommendations for where to buy balls?

That’s a nice cabinet! I’m pretty new to all of this. Just starting cleanup on my third machine. I’ve gotten balls off of Amazon. Only a handful of them were etched with the cool pachinko parlor logos, but all of them worked in the machine.

Welcome to Pachitalk! I usually search eBay. I will add price and shipping then divide by number of balls. This gives me price per ball, delivered. I would consider .04 to .06 cents per ball a good price. That was some time ago...I don't know what a good price today is. You will generally get a better deal by buying larger quantities. 1000 should be plenty as you have a Model A...which is a recycler.

Thanks, all! I wish I could take credit for the cabinet, but that was my dad. He made it from scratch in the 70s. I’m glad to finally have it up and on display again.

I appreciate the advice on balls, too. I’d seen a few ads on eBay and Amazon but the etched/engraved balls seem hard to find. We used to have a full set, but they seem to have been lost over the years. I’ll rely on your advice and see if I can get a good deal on something.

This site is a great resource, and I’ll post some more once I get the machine cleaned up and filled again.

The Engraved pachinko balls can gather up more Dust and Dirt and does cause abrasive wear on the plastic and metal of the machine.

I speak from experience since my 1st pachinko machine I bought was in 1977 at Toys R Us for $35.00 and it was a Target Abroad machine .

I had to ,Every Week get a cloth and 91% alcohol and clean all the engraved pachinko balls.

I think that is why the New Pachinko balls are all smooth Chrome Plated . A whole lot less maintenance and wear on the new machines with Clear Plastic Playfields .

Well, I’ve tested it. The pachinko balls from the eBay link come from the same address as the amazon ones! Same balls it would seem.

Good to know. I received a batch of $500 from eBay yesterday, and they seemed to work fine.
