    Default pachi-influenced redemption games

Thought this might be of interest.
I think redemption machines are a silly grift and wish you could play them for actual stakes like pachinko, but ah well

    WANTED: 10¥ games, pre-1950s machines, スマートボール (Smart Ball), payazzo/kronespill, Pickwick-style (~1905)
if you have any of these in North America, let's talk.

Scientific games is releasing a pachinko influenced game that is for real stakes. There was actually a redemption game that has the exact same theme.

Beware as redemption games can be set on criminally low percentages, well at least in the UK they are regularly knocked to 30%. A lot of it probably goes into the trivial value of a ticket which is paid out, but do check your arcade prize booth before you play.

TBH the way Scientific has treated the UK gambling market, I wouldnt trust them to run a bath, save a gaming company.

I wonder if it’s as addictive as the Star Trek and Sponge Bob coin pusher redemption games are! Similar concept where you collect cards and tickets for prizes. Those are my favorites at Dave and Busters. They’re a total ripoff for sure; but kinda fun regardless!

    @lotsoballs

you need to try marble carnival. It’s the American version of marble fever and is at all round 1 arcades. Dave will roll them out sooner or later.

    I love it:

If there were actual stakes I would play the crap out of something like that. So much of pachinko is just about AESTHETIC to me, and I love the Marble Carnival aesthetic and would enjoy it even if I didn't win.

Does anyone have a link to analysis of the economics behind modern ticket redemption?
Last time I really went to a redemption arcade almost a decade ago I had calculated it to be something like...
each ticket you received was worth approx 1 cent in retail value at the candy counter
each 25 cent credit typically paid out between 4-20 tickets, with a bunch of newer games offering hard to reach big ticket jackpots.

1 cent in retail candy is probably bought for 40 cents on the dollar, making the paid out rewards a rather small portion of the gross intake per machine.

    taken from a reddit thread,
"If you load $100 with the VIP Card($6 initial cost), it's only around $1 a swipe."
Actually apparently like $1.20 per swipe. (USD)

In the video you can see a card saying 5 swipes gives you 75 shots, so $6 for 75 shots, so each marble is 8 cents in the BEST CASE scenario.
    2 Marbles falling = 1 ticket.
It would be easy enough to average 1 marble falling per marble shot, so 75 falling, rewarding 38 tickets (Rounded up)

What's the current approx redemption value per ticket, then?

Anyways, I wish there was some kind of valued redemption because my god do I hate the industry of selling cheap plastic to people as redemption prizes.

Actually, round 1 and Dave have some decent prizes. Round 1 has exclusive things from japan which I think is pretty neat! You also need to take in to account the 3000-5000 ticket bonus that is awarded for completing the card set. I mainly like playing it because the gameplay is great and it reminds me of marble fever (which marble carnival came from)
