Default Questions About 70s Ginza Pachinko Machine

So I recently caved and bought a Pachinko machine. I've always considered getting one, and finally found one for a decent price at an estate sale with a motif I liked. The goofy looking bee and fish got me. I'll take much better pictures when I pick it up on Friday, but I was wondering if there's anything noticeable that might need help. The pictures are low quality, but from my untrained eye it looks to be in good condition besides some age.

I'd also be interested in more information on the Ginza line of Pachinko machines if anyone could point me to it. From the research I've done, they seem to be one of the several common brands imported during the boom in the 70s, but I had a hard time finding pictures of other machines by them. Most of the ones I've come across are Sankyo and Daiichi.

    Thank you for any information!

    Welcome to Pachitalk

looks mostly complete.. but looks to be missing its shooter spring.. the long spring bottom back that operates the shooter..

Ginza is one of thous brads that ya dont see as often.. i own a Ginza machine that is way older then yours, my guess is they were a smaller Co.

Thank you all for welcoming me!

Thanks for pointing that out! I didn't even notice. When I get it in hand I'll have to do a more comprehensive look, but I'm pretty sure you're right. Hopefully I can find a compatible spring without much issue.

I did a quick search on this website for Ginza as well, and it seems like a lot of the results were older machines (50s and 60s). I think someone also said something about because of where machines were imported from back in the 60s and 70s, we're less likely to find Ginza machines in the states. Thank you for the info!

Looks like the lower ball track cover missing as well. Nice looking machine.

And welcome aboard. Careful now, they do tend to multiply.

Looking again, I think you're right. I found one website selling Ginza track covers so hopefully it's a match to one of them they have there.

And thanks! Hopefully I can keep the multiplying in check. At least until this one is 100% ready to go.

So I picked it up today, and was able to give it a more thorough inspection. Both Tink and Mopar were correct with what they believed was missing from the back. Hopefully I can find those pieces without issue.

There was a small crack in the front glass, but looking at it, I'm unsure if it was the original glass anyways. There's a small maybe 1/4" gap at the top, can someone tell me if that's normal? The play tray, as well as some of the plastic parts on the back have small cracks as well, but nothing too noticeable or that would cause issue. The only other big issue is the laminate(?) on the front is cracked on the top right.

Other than that it's the standard dirty play field, and oxidized brass nails that you'd get from a used one. The wood doesn't seem to have any serious conditional issues that I can spot, and there's very little rust. The playfield art doesn't seem to have any water or mold damage either which is a miracle with Houston humidity. It's just very dirty.

I've also determined that it's most likely a 1978(?) machine, but could be earlier (maybe 72'?). I've attached a more clear image of the information on the bottom right so maybe someone else can confirm for me. I couldn't seem to find much info on 70s Ginza machines, only the early 50s and 60s models.

I seem to have a lot of work ahead of me, but I think I'd like to do a full tear down of it and make it look like it did when it first came out on the market. Looking past the issues it really is a nice looking machine. The bowling ball-esque orange play tray is super eye catching, and the goofy little bee guy is great. Hopefully I can make time and post the finished product in the coming months!

Sorry the pictures are sideways. They look correct on my phone and on my Laptop so I'm unsure why they were rotated on upload.
