    Default Nishijin UFO machine

Just received a 1976 Nishijin UFO machine for restoration. I briefly plugged the transformer in and some lights came on and the UFO opened with a bit of nudging...
Won't know for sure if it all works until everything is clean. Would look forward to hearing from anyone that has had success (or failure) with one of these machines.

The "guts" are all back where they belong with no parts left over!
They were all removed and thoroughly cleaned. Brass pivots polished. Any rust removed. Plastic parts given a wax job. The board sanded down and coated with polyurethane. Then everything get put back where it belongs.
I also tested the wire harness and installed new bulbs and grommets.

And all those Capacitors (Blue cylinders) replaced cause they are way pass the expiration date

I haven't seen Metal topped transistors since my tinkering in the 1960's-70's .

Looks pretty awesome. I want one...

I have a locomotive themed machine with a primitive computer that controls lights and a solenoid and counts jackpots which actually works--had to find the crud encrusted on/off switch on the computer. Some of the old electronics are better than modern I think because they haven't been minitiarized so much and use bigger, heavier duty components...
