    Default Newly acquired Niahijin Hi-Wings

A family friend gave to me to restore for my son for Christmas. I know nothing about these machines but I’m so excited to get it working for my son! He said it worked when he put it in the attic about 15 years ago. Lights come on when plugged in. Any guidance/help or repairman in the Charleston, SC area would be much appreciated! Thanks!!

Neat machine. What’s wrong with it? What needs repaired exactly?

Thank you! Not really sure. When I plug in lights blink and there is a sound and then nothing happens when I push buttons or turn dial. I put balls in the middle front compartment but they just sit there. I can’t find a video on this particular machine to see what I should be doing but my understanding is that balls go there and then feed into machine and I use the knob to shoot them...?

Are there plenty of balls in the rear hopper? Are you gripping the shooter knob tightly so your hand is touching the metal ring around it? Does the shooter motor make any noises when you are attempting to fire balls? You should hear a tapping/thumping noise from it.

Some shooter handles from that era are sensitive and need adjustment periodically, see the other similar thread that was posted recently about shooter handle issues. http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/show...dern-pachinko&

There’s not really any specialists that repair/restore modern pachinko. Besides bringing it to my place.

You can probably figure it out with some troubleshooting if it was working before. Some machines are known to have a bad circuit board for the shooter that causes it to fail. I think that’s older Heiwas though. Good luck!

I’m in Charlotte. It would cost a lot more than it’s worth to ship it twice; and there’s no guarantee me or somebody else could fix it; probably, but not certainly.

Try to answer questions asked earlier, lots of pachinko newbies successfully figure out technical issues with new machines with help of experts on here.

Hopefully there were no mice or vermin in the attic that chewed any wires? Can’t hurt to check all the wires and make sure the connectors are all connected properly.

Any update in this? I just bought a similar machine with the same problem. Nothing happens when I turn the shooter knob.

Thanks for the response. I have since posted my problem on the Facebook pachinko group and someone told me they had the same problem and that their machine would work only when they touched the chrome ring and the chrome glass trim at the same time. So I tried it on mine and it worked. Not quite sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be or there is something wrong.
