Default Power Transformer Question - unsure of what to purchase.

Hello all - I'm curious about power adapters/transformers -- is there a general, recommended product that everyone uses? I've been told that I need "a transformer that change 24V (with about 5A) to your country's outlet voltage" - I'm located in Canada and the Pachinko machine is coming from Japan - I did a quick google search and was simply overwhelmed with all the options so I thought I'd ask the group - Thank you in advance and I apologize if this is a stupid question I'm just worried about making the wrong product purchase.

It depends on your machine. A lot newer machines need up to 10A transformers. If you can find the VA rating on the machine. It's a help.
Normally printed on the back somewhere.

A standard transformer will just be a block with 4 wires coming out of it. Then you need to connect a piece of flex with your mains plug on it to one pair. Then connect the other 2 to the machine.

Is there a plug and play solution?

Not that I’m aware of besides buying one of the big transformers the parlors use; you can just plug in 4 machines directly into them. No wire splicing needed. Very heavy and probably not cheap though.

Most vendors include a transformer; only time I’ve gotten a machine without one was importing directly from yahoo auctions. Or getting a machine some other collector directly imported. What vendor did you go with and how much do they charge for shipping? Just curious. They might just give you one if you tell them your country’s voltage, they aren’t expensive.
