Default Pachinko Legalities and potential shop

Found this interesting local article about slot machine and fish game arcades that have been popping up all over here in NC (Pachinko world also has fish games) According to arcade/parlor operators they are following state law since machines do require some skill; not 100% luck (pachinko would qualify ) Long story short; the SBI isn’t enforcing any rules; so it’s left up to a patchwork local law enforcement agencies to enforce (or rather NOT enforce). “The state legislature created this mess and they need to fix it. The law is clear as mud” says Concord police chief Gary Gaecek.

Somewheres up in that corner of the state a bunch of particleboard is soon to be smashed to bits, again... <groan>

The fish games are fun; they do look like ripped off Sea Story characters/creatures! Chinese bootleg version. Even Dave and Buster’s has the fish game; although can only win prizes there.

Local story updated today. (w/names info of c-store 'perps' involved, plus a few more little details) As reported on the local broadcast tonite, video (not seen online) shows they were going after essentially video poker machines, no 'fish games' spotted.

Ooops...didn't know that, they're just one of my local TV stations. Here's the text of the brief article from their website:

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. – Fourteen people have been arrested by the Jacksonville Police Department (JPD) in an illegal gambling investigation we first told you about Monday.

New information released Tuesday by the JPD includes arrest reports for the following individuals (All face charges of operating a gambling house, having gambling equipment, and unauthorized use of another person’s property):

[list of names and mugshots deleted]

All of the individuals have a court date of Jan. 23, 2020.
According to the arrest records, slot machines were found at 11 businesses (mostly gas station/convenience stores) and any winners were paid with everything from cash or store credit to lottery tickets and gas gift cards.
More details to come in a Tuesday afternoon news conference.
