CJ error on my Getter Mouse

I have a Getter Mouse machine that I bought at a yard sale for $20. It will play a few turns and then give me the CJ error. If I remove the coin mechanism from the door it will reset but it won't reset if it is installed in the door. I've tried cleaning it with alcohol but it will give me the error after only a few plays. Do I need a new coin mechanism?
