because I drink 3 to 4 pounds a week myself, imported coffee (greg, all coffee is imported).

Kona isnt "exactly" imported...so in truth ALL coffee isnt imported.
Hawaii is the only state in the USA to grow coffee. Sure it comes over on a boat or plane, but it is technically speaking "Made in the USA". If only we could adopt Jamaica... mmmmm Blue Mountain...

username has been mine since before the internet, from pennynet bbs's to modern times. its also shortened from my official name in the Church Of The Subgenius: The Almighty Reverand Mondo, yes I am an ordained minister, and no I will not touch you there, at least not yet...

RANMAN...Just my initials followed by man....kind of a play on rain man. I added 101 because a lot of times RANMAN is taken. So 101 because like school classes I'm the first one.

OK - here's all about mine...

I am a long time listener to the psychedelic band 'Gong'. Of their many albums, a series of five relates the story of ZeroTheHero. He is an 'everyman' who has many chances to attain a state of higher consciousness, but always blows it because he is distracted by the trappings of the material world. Seems appropriate somehow :lol8:

The whole story is symbolised by the Gong mandala (as in my avatar) and is meant to be funny/sad/provoking/serious/silly/deep/shallow, and it is based on various esoteric teachings.

There is a whole mythology - you can read about it on Wiki here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gong_mythology
    if you are interested.

The band is more like a family with many offshoots, joinings and leavings, still producing challenging and diverse music after more than 40 years.

    Well you DID ask!

B.F. are my initials, but more importantly as a youngster I often dreamed of the day that I would leave home to be on my own and away from STALAG DAD.

    This Gong mythology.....
Did it start sometime in the 70's, and were Chuck Barris, Jaye P. Morgan, Arte Johnson, Rip Taylor, Jamie Farr, and Anson Williams considered some sort of saints?
    Just wonderin'.

I am sure this is a joke, but it's lost on me as I don't recognise any of those names

I'm not sure that Gong ever managed to make a big impression over the pond - you would never have let them in :lol8:

There was a show here called "The Gong Show" where amateurs would showcase their talents to a panel of judges. If they were liked, they got scored...if not, they got "Gonged"

Default Origins Of Our Screennames And Handles.

Another fun and informative thread, how did we come about our handles and screen names...

Mine is a actually a version of my original "Handle" or screenname from back in the early days of the internet on a little Internet service called P.C. link which was absorbed in the initial rollout of a little internet service called America Online. it was originally TequilaKing, which became a little bit juvenile by the time I was in my mid 20s and was managing stores for RadioShack, it became TeqKing as it was a smart way to leave it because I did Technical support using the account as well. It became Teqkng soon thereafter as I got rid of my AOL account and went with a true ISP, and liked the anomoly of using the "Q" without the post requisite "u". My TEQKNG address on Yahoo is close to 18 years old and I also have had the same on msn, Netzero and a few others. I also use it everywhere I am it is my only persona online. I even used it as my email address when I was the service technical director for a large Projection and Presentations Company here in South Florida (I think it was part of the reason I was hired strangely enough). I am actually known more by TEQ (Pronounced "teek" or "tek") by people that have known me for more than 25 years.

SO in closing I am, have always been and most likely will always be...

    Yours truly

    TEQ
