I will never tell! You will not get it out of me! No matter how much you twist my arm! But! I will give you a hint. He is old. He is a character of a man. Some say the oldest to ever be. Someone I grew up with. If you knew my last name it is also somewhat of a play of words. Guess who he is and his real name and then maybe I will tell!

Ran a small local bbs (bulletin board system, something like this with games and downloads) in the early 90's back before the internet hit our little town.
It was called the Darque Castle BBS, it had a castle theme, and about 400 users.
At that time I was reading books about a Drow (dark) Elf named Drizzt, I liked the books, and took his name at the Darque Castle, since I was Lord of the Castle, it became Lord Drizzt.
Hence the arrival of the internet, our service provider wanted an 8 character username, I didn't want to change what I was used to so I shortened it Lddrizzt, been using it ever since.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

    arbycoffee

because I drink 3 to 4 pounds a week myself, imported coffee (greg, all coffee is imported).
Last name is ArBuckle (thanks to the witness protection program).

    OR THE REAL STORY

    John Arbuckle 1838-1912

Inventor, merchant and philanthropist born in Scotland, son of Thomas Arbuckle who brought his son to the United States at an early age. ArbuckleÂ’s father was the proprietor of a cotton mill in Allegheny City. His son attended the public schools of Allegheny and Pittsburgh, and had a strong bent for science and machinery. In 1856 he enrolled at Washington and Jefferson College, but left before graduation to engage in the coffee roasting business with his younger brother Charles under the name Arbuckle Brothers. He married Mary Alice Kerr in Pittsburgh, Pa. in 1868 and died without issue.

John Arbuckle with the aid of a draftsman and machinest invented a machine which filled, weighed, sealed and labeled coffee in paper packages of coffee the firm sold. Their "Arbuckle Ariosa" became the coffee used all over the country. Eventually the business became the largest importer of coffee in the world, and Arbuckle determined to pack and sell sugar the same way. Refined sugar was purchased from the Havemeyer interests, but Arbuckle was soon considered a menace to their trade. The historic Arbuckle-Havemeyer trade battle cost the combined sugar and coffee forces $25 million, making this one of the most spectacular controversies in the history of American industry.

Arbuckle, the largest ship owner in America since every merchant ship engaged in the South American coffee trade was his, decided in 1906 to turn his attention to the salvage of vessels and founded The Arbuckle Wrecking Company. He maintained a fleet of ocean-going tugs equipped with wireless telegraphy which responded to alarms received at government life-saving stations.

Mr. John Arbuckle, who went on to become the greatest coffee roaster of his generation and the creator of the first national brand, "ARIOSA," was also one of the richest men in America during the gilded age of the 1880s and '90s. Arbuckle Bros. produced ARIOSA, known as "the coffee that won the West," and also roasted and packed several other popular brands, including their premium YUBAN brand (now owned by Kraft), which was the best selling brand in New York for years.

Arbuckle's coffee was distributed in the age before lined paper bags, and coffee went stale and rancid pronto. Coating, or "glazing" as it came to be known, was a way to lengthen its shelf life by keeping air away from the beans. Many different compounds were used in the coffee trade. Arbuckle Bros. settled on a sugar based glaze. They became such a prodigious user of sugar that they decided to enter the sugar business rather than give a profit on the huge quantities they needed to others. The Sugar Trust didn't like that much and decided to enter the coffee business to spite Arbuckle. For the better part of the next generation, the Sugar Trust's LION COFFEE battled it out with Arbuckle's brands throughout the courts and the cities of the nation. The first great advertising campaign in history was this coffee war. After fought to a stand-still, the sugar boys quit the coffee business, and the Arbuckle brothers were triumphant.
They strode upon the national stage until their deaths in the early part of the 20th Century. Their heirs sold the business to Mr. C.W. Post (of Post Toasties and Postum fame), who was putting together a little company at that time that would be called General Foods. Mr. Post joined the Arbuckle brands with the other little roaster he had just acquired from the Cheek Neal Coffee Co.; it was called Maxwell House.

With the advent of the Pure Food & Drug Act (1906), and the development of better packaging that retained freshness longer, glazing fell out of fashion.

Sugar glazed beans, now referred to as "torrefaction coffee," still retain a market in Spain and South America.
"This is My Personal Opinion and no others"

Yes. Robert A. Heinlein. He is still my favorite author. Lazarus appears in a number of his books. Each book can be read as an individual book but over time they grew into a sort of series. Lazarus became one of his best characters to me. As for the name play he is the oldest human alive. He is old I'm Young As in young is my last name. I know corny but again I had to come up with something one day for Ebay. My ebay name is lazarussmith. One part of the puzzle left misscrazylady. Lazarus's real name. He was named after a president. Born shortly before WWI started. First middle and I have already given you his last name. The presidents initials are in the this post.
