She's plastic and needs a name. The green matches the machine so well, I'll probably glue her on somewhere. Franny Frog? Patchi Petunia?

I made good progress today learning how Nishijin "Big Awards" works....or doesn't. The sound works too well, I unplugged it and will add a volume pot. There might be one bulb out, I'll look into that later. I think the center mech is working right. I watched this youtube video for comparison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWI9j-LhbAs I suspect the importer, Pachinko Industries Inc of Texas, put yellow paint on the common adjustment points, like the reset and door release lever. There happened to be one "mystery hole" with yellow paint on it. After taking apart the shooter mechanism and finding nothing wrong with it, I looked in the mystery hole and saw an adjustment screw. I slowly turned it clockwise and my shooter motor came back to life. Yay! BUT the balls don't launch with much gusto, failing to make it to the right side of the playfield. I think the black knob near the shooter motor adjusts the spring tension but I haven't figured out how it works, turning it makes no difference.

The payout mechanism isn't loading balls reliably, I have to nudge them in. When I test a pocket, there is a lightshow but no payout. I'll dig into that issue on Sunday. Also, I'm curious what the red and white jumpers do at the top right of this image.

Missing lower ramp feed cover could cause unreliable payouts.

Success! The payout mechanism was crooked which partially blocked the feed. I took the mechanism apart to clean it and just putting it back together was enough to fix it. By trial and error I also learned that turning the black nob counterclockwise increases the spring tension, IF you turn it hard enough to hear/feel a click. So now I have a fully functional Big Awards...I just need to replace one bulb. Hopefully the machine survives me taking it apart to get to the bulb. This thing pays out like crazy! I either need to order more balls or make some nail adjustments. Cheers!

I'm on a pachi break after picking up a jukebox last weekend that I've begun restoring.
I know nothing about them, and it looks to be a long project. Wish me luck!

I found a modern match for the rubber grommets used in my vintage pachi's. The originals were brittle and falling apart. The key measurements are 3/8" diameter hole for the bulb socket, 1/2" diameter panel hole, and 1/16" wide groove width. Amazon link: https://smile.amazon.com/Rubber-Grom.../dp/B01NAGH0Z6

I scored my second early modern today. Bikkuri House 2 by Monako. It needs a little TLC, so my fingers are crossed. Anyone familiar with it?

Digging into Bikkuri House 2: Here's the broken piece of the shooter mech before I fixed it with JB Weld. Any idea where to buy a replacement part in case my repair fails?

Maybe cruise ebay. You can usually find whole shooting mechanisms there for vintage machines...not sure about your machine--it looks more newfangled...
