Default Battle of Vader - undershooting

I swear I’ve seen this covered previously, but my search-fu isn’t cooperating.

Just got a Battle of Vader machine. Works fine, except it’s undershooting. The ball never makes it way onto the playing field. It came with a 5amp transformer. As soon as I put a JST end on one of my 15amp transformers I’ll give it a go.

There doesn’t seem to be anything mechanical broken, lodged that I can see. Does above seem like reasonable next steps?

Note: 2 pallets arrived today. First time 0 machines where visibly broken

A big thing that can cause this. Is the cel isn't fitted correctly in the cel. So there is to much resistance as the ball goes up the ramp to the play field.

That would be the first place to look.

Even take the cel out and back in again.

Also check the condition of the shooter hammer.

    Thank you!

I reseated the cell, tried a larger transformer and checked the condition of the hammer. So far, no luck. However, the shooter knob gets stuck and sounds like there's a rattle inside. If I fire with the door open turning from left to right, I see no notable difference in force. Will venture into taking that apart and seeing what goodness exists inside.

If anyone knows a quick-like way to remove the shooter knob without taking a lot of the frame apart, please let me know.

    Fixed!

The plastic gear that screws into the frame and moves the shooter gears was broken! Quick fix with super glue and a heat gun. Below is a pic for reference where the plastic broke off:

Took about 1.5hrs to disassemble, clean, fix and reassemble.

While it’s fresh in my head, to remove the shooter knob the following needs to be disconnected.

    1. Remove all the wires that connect to the payout board and cr adapter housing.

    2. Slide out the payout board.

    3. Remove screws and the remaining perimeter screws.

    4. Behind the lower part of step 3, there’s a screw or two and the wire clip routing the shooter wires.

Then there’s just a few screws on the front shooter cover that need to be removed.
