    Default Pocket models

I'm going to be starting a project to build models of the plastic pockets used in the pachinko machines, so we can 3D print replacements when we need to. I know I have one that is suffering after a foil-attachment experiment gone wrong

I'm going to start with the ones I have on my 9 machines, but I'm certain I don't have all the versions out there.

I'm looking for people who would be willing to send me info on the pockets they have, so I can recreate as many as possible.

If you're willing, I need a scan of the front design (A scan will be a 1-1 representation, whereas a picture I'd have to guess at the scale) and pictures of the back and sides.

PM me if you're interested in sending me info, I'll pass along my personal e-mail where you can send it to me.

I'll post them out on thingiverse.com once I have the models done

Yes! We need stuff like this. I'm looking for a pocket that I know can be 3D printed if only I had another to copy from.

Are you going to measure and draw them up in 3D? I started drawing a lower win pocket. I should have it finished by tomorrow but it's in 2D. I haven't learned to draw in 3D yet.

That's the plan. I've only been into 3D printing about 6 months now, I'm just starting to get to the point I feel good about designing more complex objects.

Cool. We have a few 3D printers where I work and I have some access to them. I've been trying to recreate the Model B seesaw dust cover by measuring and drawing it but it's proving to be higher skill than my paygrade. I'm just gonna get some of that Magnaflux SD-K stuff, spray it and 3D scan it. I'll post it once I have it in a scan and clean it up a bit.

It takes some patience, and some trial and error to get things right. Recreating an object is much easier than creating from scratch though.

First try, I need to tweak the pattern a little, but if I needed a pocket, I could use it. And this was with only the basic cleanup coming out of the printer.

Not a perfect clone, but looks perfectly acceptable to me.

It would work, the functional part is right. A few lines on the face disappear when I print the model, so I'm trying to fix that. I almost have it fixed, I just need to resolve one last line not printing, then it will be ready to publish on thingiverse, and I'll start on the next.

Tinkercad mostly, I plan on spending some time and learning Blender... but between my day job, kids, and life in general, I haven't made the time yet.

I do some of the pre-work in photoshop and illustrator, turning the scan into something I can import into tinkercad to get the pattern for the face.

I've completed 2 more models ! Ok, so the second one is a minor variation on the first, it counts, right? They've been added to the same set on thingiverse.

If anyone's local and sees pockets they need for one of their machines, just let me know and I'll print some out. And I can do other colors other than the green, that's just what I have loaded in that printer right now.
