My machine is circa 2000 called Monster House

I do notice the key seems like it gets stuck and won't come out easy until you jiggle it a bit. not sure if that is unique to the Fuji ones or just mine.

Turning key left pops only the glass as expected turning right opens the frame and swings the whole thing out.

Hope this help you. Maybe its just jammed.

Can you release it manually from the back?

Some machines do have a slightly different key. I've come across a few. None I own any more.
Its something to do with removing the lock and pressing down on the little button in the back whilst turning the key

I won't be much help sorry. I tried. All of mine are different years and manufactures and the keys I have all work in all of them. I thought it was a standard key. wasn't aware there were different lengths or styles. From the picture it looked like all the ones I have but apparently there is something different about yours.

I've read where the pin on the back has something to do with a parlor changing the lock to accept their own house key, replacing the master key.

I've found this picture but to me it seems backwards or it is just how I am reading it.

I just checked all my machines that take a omlock key and they match the left picture keyhole peteybob, and they all accept a universal key, never had a machine that didn't take my key but it makes sense that the parlors would have their own keys cut.

Same here for all of my machines with this lock. Even all the spare locks I have are the same if anyone is looking for a replacement lock. I just don't have the screws for mounting or cams and screws for the backside.

So you have 3 choices. Remove lock cylinder and try to reset it back to standard. Remove lock and de-pin in. This is easy with the ones with a flat top/bottom. Not sure about the fully round ones. Or source a replacement default lock cylinder that will accept your key. And swap the cam off the back.
