Hi there Peteybob. Did you get my PM? I'm curious if it sent, because it is not in my "sent" folder...

**EDIT: My bad, I see that I have to enable the saving of sent messages.

OK so some issues with the lock. Peteybob was kind enough to provide me a key, which fits, but doesn't turn. It seems to be keyed to a specific key. I pulled the lock mech and here is what it looks like:

I cannot figure out how to open the cylinder to mess with the pins. Anyone know how to open it up? There's a little lever (seen on the right side of the pic) but I can't figure out how it works or what it does. I am kind of hesitant to start prying on stuff.

The little lever is spring loaded and when held down the key should freely turn fully around in either direction without the post on the backside turning at all. When let go and assuming the spring is good inside then turning the key should re-engage with the post on the backside and turn the attached cam about 60 degrees to either side.

I do have extra working locks with "W2PD" stamped on the back along with keys if anyone is interested.

Thanks to Peteybob. His lock/key combo works perfectly and was super easy to swap in!

I have a few questions about the sound I was hoping people could give me their thoughts on. My upper 2 speakers are working but my bottom 2 are not. I have located the plugs for the speakers:

"A" is where the upper speakers plug in. "B" is where the lower speakers plug in.

Here is the bottom left speaker:

As you can see, someone tried a sort of POT volume hack. The wires seem secure.

The bottom right speaker looks like it had a volume hack, but broke off:

I tried simply twisting the red wires together. As far as I can tell, this would simply put the speaker back in the state it was in before the POT was added. But... even so I am not getting any sound out of the bottom. There are no frays in the wires that I can see. I tried re-seating the plug on the board, but nothing. I guess the next step would be to pull the speakers and test them on something else.

I am wondering, does anyone know if the bottom speakers output different sounds from the top? I was concerned because the top speakers plug in to a completely separate board from the bottom. I assume the bottoms would put out better sound, since they are substantially bigger. If the sounds are the same, as a last resort, maybe I'll just wire the bottom speakers up to the top speaker connection and leave the top speakers dead.

Any info or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I have L-pads installed on mine.

I would definitely try to get the lower speakers working.

In the video you can hear the difference in sounds (hopefully) when switching from the upper to the lower speakers.

    Gotta catch 'em all Pa-chink-o

Yep, I can hear my squelchi top speakers in there!

I got it sorted! I was concerned that both speakers were coincidentally out, but it turns out the splices in the photos were crap. They didn't even pierce the wire insulation. I wonder if the company that installed them even tested it. Pretty lazy. The top ones also seem more balanced and less screechy with the bottoms engaged.

Hi Ikaria, could you tell me what this blue button does?

Mine doesn't seem to do anything.

OK, so with the speakers, I need to install my own volume control. I have a 4-way POT to try out. Question for Dave and the rest: As you can see in the pics above, the person who abused this machine before me wired the POT to just 2 of the POT leads. Ideally, for volume control, should the third POT lead be grounded?

    TIA!

As far as I can tell, when it's pushed, sometimes it will change the background scene, or make whales, turtles, etc... swim across the screen. Once when I pushed it a sunken ship appeared.

I don't know if these things would have happened had I not pushed it, but there it is. It might be something for bonus rounds? Bottom line is I'm just not sure.

Keep experimenting and see what happens for you.

OK cool, thanks. At least I know it's not something important that's broken. Does yours light up ever? I was messing around to see if it was used in the slot part, but I don't think it does.
