Default Hello all from the UK

    Hello everyone!

I've found myself loitering for a while, and finally decided to join in the fun. ^_^

I have long been a pinball enthusiast but my love of Japan was inevitably destined to draw me into the world of Pachinko.

I'm hoping to pick up some Evangelion machines at some point.

It's reassuring to see so many people from the UK here as I have trouble tracking down machines here, and finding people that will ship here.
Hopefully you'll be able to point me in the right direction here too.

Thanks for having me and nice to meet you all.

    - Josh/Caffeine/whatever you wanna call me that isn't insulting

    Welcome Aboard

Yes it is a bit Slim Pickens here in the UK

    BS.png

All my machines I had to have shipped from Japan as there is no one here who deals in them.

Best bet is to check out the Fromjapan thread as it goes through the deputy bidding service, an idea of shipping cost (from High to Cheaper to fly there and pick it up)
its not uncommon to by a machine for £30-100 then cost over £200 to ship it.

You could always try Dragonfly amusments, but there stock is low at the moment

Waving Hello and Welcome to PachiTalk

Always nice to see new UK members joining us!

I also love pinball machines and good coffee

As Ian (Drunkenclam) says above, we no longer have importers here in the UK but some members do import from Japan

I've not done this yet myself, as I've not added to my collection for a while, most of my moderns were bought when we had importers here, lack of space is an issue for me - so I have a few pachislo and pachinko machines in storage for now

Jan (Dragonfly) will have a large order coming in this month, so it's worth checking back with him later in the month.

Most of the machines around the UK are from the 2000-2006 era, which were shipped over when we had a few importers. They turn up semi-regularly on eBay, and are usually reasonably priced. Later machines are much rarer, and are likely to have been personal imports for their previous owners. These are significantly more expensive, and it may be cheaper to import from Japan yourself.

Would like to say thank you all for the kind words and the warm welcome! I've been suffering from Bronchitis and feeling rather sorry for myself so... ordered 2 machines (one slo) from Rakuten to make myself feel better.

I used FromJapan and found them very easy to use but the shipping quotes were a little higher than I'd like at
69,925Yen and 79,651Yen from FedEx (economy and priority) but it does weigh in at 48kg. The one thing that has me curious is there is no option to add extra packaging or have it repackaged, which I have seen on other threads.

    Edit: formatting

FromJapan changed some of their handling last year as to where they no longer consolidate items of certain types. As I understand it they won't add your small items to a large pachi carton. A bit of a trade off in their fee structure to the consumer and the work load/pay to their employees I guess.

48kg is a large one! My 46kg last year cost me a pretty penny as well. A large and over sized Ultraman pachinko. Enjoy your new toys and I hope you feel better and stronger daily

Wow I must have missed the reply to this thread. 48 Kg is a heck of a weight. Must have been a fairly modern machine at that weight.
You should have your machines by now. We love to see pictures (2MB limit)

Here is the general website without pricing. Like you, I wouldn't know what the Facebook site offers being a non-user of Facebook.
