Default Restored 2 vintage machines - missing keys

I have a 1967 and 19971 Nishijin that I restored to working order that are missing keys. Does anyone have advice on getting replacement keys made or bypassing the locks? The machines will be mounted on the wall in a cabinet and I want to have the locking mechanism function to hold them securely closed so the kids don't get hurt or mess them up.

I read some old treads but most have broken links / missing photos.

    Thanks!
    Taylor

Did you remove the locks and take them in, take the whole machine or have him come to you?

Depending on the lock type, I've had luck finding keys that fit into the lock, and using a file to create a new key. But the locks I've done this with are pretty simple, they just have a tab 'dimpled' in on the lock that keeps an improper key from turning. It doesn't have full tumblers.

If it's a lock that actually has tumblers, you can remove the tumblers, turning the lock into a fancy knob, basically. Still need a key that fits into the lock, but it can be any key.

Great news. I found a locksmith in Colorado Springs that was able to make a key. I think my uncle got both machines from the same pachinko parlor because they share a key. Very happy! Thanks for the advice.
