    Default Self Restoration

Has anyone restored their machines themselves using any of the books and DVDs available?

I have a 1975 Nishijin model 1200 AKA model-A pachinko machine known as "Jap Jal" and I'm wanting to get it restored.

    Welcome to PachiTalk.

I restore vintage pachinko machines as a hobby/business. I stated by gettting a how to DVD and an eBook on restoring pachinkos. Learned a lot from them and then learned more from experience.
If you want to talk about pachinkos and ask questions about how to proceed, please don't hesitate to contact me anytime. I'm retired and have lots of time on my hands!

I'm new to Pachinko restoration though I've maintained a vintage Japanese motorcycle for many years.

I got pretty lucky in that I picked up a vintage Pachinko machine that was complete and in tact. Restoring it was pretty straightforward. A little rust removal, a little paint, some minor electrical wiring.

Books, guides, and DVDs are always helpful. Whether or not they're necessary depends on your experience, the condition of your machine, and how you define "restoration".

I wasn't going for a full restoration. I just wanted a playable, reasonably attractive machine. So I didn't take the whole thing apart or de-rust/clean all the parts.
