    Default New guy in town.

Hi, looking forward to find my way here. As I recently bought me 2 modern pachinko machines. Japanese is
nothing that I understand att all. And all documentation I find is in Japanese. I hope that the pachinko community is as helpful as the pinball communities that I am very well acquainted with.

I have for years been intrigued by the Japanese slot culture but with balls (as pinball is my main focal point)

A couple of weeks ago i stumble on a pair of modern (converted?) pachinkos, and I finally tool the step.

My two machines has encapsulated balls and you supposedly feed the machine with tokens /yens to
    get balls to play.

I am curious about this conversion, why they are made and for what purpose. And I am equally eager to learn how to set up the machine to be not in freeplay / service credit mod (as i do not understand Japanese i do not know which) but currently it does not take tokens and award credits. Any help on that matter and a English user guide/op manual would be sweet.

Anyway looking forward to learning about pachinkos and getting to know you guys here.

    cheese

    Welcome Aboard

No guides that I am aware of. Candyflip had some of these and converted them back to normal play.

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/show...Computer-Pachi

My guess is they were installed in arcades and games rooms in hotels/onsens as a means of recreation rather than playing for balls. Some had a big hoppers underneath to win a capsule prize. but how the game play relates to winning a prize is behond my knowledge.

From what I rememeber, an additonal circuit board is added to monitor pocket hits and control the shooter, as well as to register the coin/token to enable play.

Thanks, I will be shooting some photos and possibly videos of the machines this week.
Would you mind doing a huge favor for me, and possibly for the community too.
I have a bunch of original documentation (I believe) in Japanese, If I where to scan those,
would you mind translating the documents. And weŽll publish them here
    for all to reference.

The concept of pachinko needs to spread outside of Japan, but to help doing that.
Manuals, operation documentation and so forth needs to be translated into English.

Are you up for the challenge?

    Cheers

Ok guys, here is a short video of one of the machines booting up. Any input would be great, a couple of questions though. Sounds like a alarm going off when starting the machine, tamper alarm? how to get rid of it?
What is the title? Where do I turn volume down? There's a 100yen coin mech (ahasi seiko pfb-730), is this adjustable to take my tokens instead? how?

    alot of questions.. any answers?
