    Thumbs up Aloha and mahalo

    Aloha PachiTalk Community,

I just joined and wanted to ask for your help. I have a Sankyo Rainbowman Pachinko machine. When I turn it on, a message on the screen says “Press the game start switch on the main control board.” I have pressed this btton while turn on thhe machine and nothing changes. Incidentally there is a red number 2 that appears near the reset button. Appreciate your expertise in getting my machine into play mode.

    Mahalo,
    David

Looking back at your earlier pictures I see you have 4 potentiometers. They appear to be paired up for 2 per speaker? Assuming they only run to the speakers. I've never seen this setup before.

I wonder if your little black switch box has a volume on/off control built into it?

I’ll check that out. The left speaker did have some volume, then one of the wires disconnected. I resoldered the 4 connections for that speaker, might have made it worse since no sound comes out of that speaker, but I’ll look at the black box, thanks for your help!

I never knew what the black box was for. I assumed it had to do with the game, sort of like a handheld console. The 2 lights on the box flash in sequence when the switches are flipped up. Do you know what is the functions of the 2 buttons?

Sankyo machines usually throw error 2 when there is a payout problem. Not sure how that would relate with the control box connected.

Just my own curiosity, but does it play like a normal pachinko without the box on? Using pachinko balls, that is?

Hopefully somebody more knowledgeable will chime in for you soon.

I am able to shoot the balls onto the playfield, and no no matter which opening it goes into, the ball comes out to the playing tray. This Sankyo model recirculates the ball. I also pressed the button near the on/off switch while turning it on and nothing changed. The lights flash with a women’s voice (tranlated) saying something about pressing game start switch on the main circuit board, which I did while turning on the machine and nothing happened. Incidentally, the screen message also translates to the looping woman’s message. Oh well, I can confirm that the lights and speakers work.

I moved your thread to the Pachinko Support forum in hopes more people will see it!!

    Has it ever worked right??

It sounds like your machine has been converted to cyclic..maybe the payout motor was disconnected or something??

A picture of the full back might help!!

This was my first attempt at trying to play the machine. Attempted tp upload a picture of the back, site is not allowing it. Will try to post at a later time.

There may be more than one reset button.
there is normally one on the main PSU on the frame and one on the cel its self. the one on the PSU press and hold when you turn on the main switch,
the on on the cel, press after its finnished booting up.

You already found the two standard buttons. Although I once had a machine that had 3 reset buttons on it. I think that was a Sankyo in the same frame as that one.

Tried to upload the picture showing the back of my machine, but not successful.
After each attempt, the following message appears: “The following errors occurred: 69FB8D21-6DD1-4F67-B6D7-95EC6E6411FE.jpeg: Upload of file failed.”

Hello manoa3231 and welcome to the group

I took a picture of my Sankyo Crystella frame and marked the third button with the yellow arrow. This is a little above and to the right of the main power switch. My machine has a different auto play installed and I get the repeating message and flashing frame lights every time I power it up. After turning it on I press this button once and the machine finishes its startup process and is ready for play.

Thank you, it worked! I’ve been playing for a good part of this afternoon. I noticed that the sound from the left speaker appeared muted. There was some sound coming out, but very low and full of static. I checked the back and one of the wires for the left volume control knobs had a loose connection. I resoldered all 4 wires and now there is no sound from the left speaker. Do you have any tips on speaker connections? I did remove most of the old aolder before reconnecting the wires.

Glad that it is working now!

One of my speakers had the same issue and quit working a while back. I just haven't taken the time to dig into the wiring but I suspect that my control knob has died as my first guess. Take a look and trace the wires back to the speakers or other part from the control knobs. Something else may have come loose or got crossed. I'll get a look into mine this week and report back anything that seems peculiar about this frame.
