Default Trouble identifying pachinko machine - Sophia

I own 2 Packinko machines that I am cleaning up and am having trouble identifying this machine. All of the text is in Japanese and I think my Uncle brought this one back from Vietnam.

Can anyone help me to determine the model and year?

I'm having trouble getting the photos to upload so will try to post them below or add a link to a file sharing site.

    Thanks! Taylor

yes, there is a 2MB limit per picture.

Nice looking machine, I'm no expert on vintage, but I think they call that an owl in the middle. looks like a Nishijin model A recycler, but with a different front and only one tray.

looks like you have a nice single shot machine.. dont see pics of a second machine??

it looks complete... dirty bot complete.. probaly needs a bit of adjusting to work again but add some balls and give it a whirl..

the machine in the pics has a date stamp in the upper right corner of the playfield.. its hard to get good clear pics , but if you can there should be a date listed.. if its readable..

    and of course

I'm pretty sure the second machine is a 1975 Nichijin Model A. It works perfectly but the artwork is in bad shape and it has a good deal of rust. I'll post photos to confirm that I identified it correctly. I ordered a bunch of new balls, a LED bulb 9V battery kit for both, and a new bumper for the automatic one. Shockingly both machines take glass that's a standard pre-cut size at Home Depot.

I don't know if the bumper is missing on the Sophia or if it was supposed to be that way. I think after I identify it I can find a manual online to help. The jackpots aren't paying out on the Sophia but it's really dirty which is probably part of the problem.

    Thanks to everyone!

IMG_1860.jpgIMG_1848.jpgIMG_1862.jpg Here is the second machine. I think it is a Nichijin Model A from 1975 but am not 100%. It was stored in my mom's attic in NC for a few decades where it is hot and humid. I think I can fix the rust but am probably stuck with the damage to the graphic unless I put a lot of work in. I don't necessarily want it looking brand new either.

I think the automatic machine is a 1972 Recycler Gen 1 but the graphic is different that what's show on this website. The rest of it looks spot on. http://pachinkoplanet.com/zencart/in...age=page&id=42.

Still not sure about the Sophia single shot one.

Woo Hoo! Found the model of the Sophia. It's a 1967 Nichijin. It looks like it is not supposed to have a bumper. Now on to the fun part of cleaning it up. Thanks to those that weighed in!

1967 in action (not mine on YouTube) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwMQ8cMtFhU. It's helpful to know what you have!

It seems like the issue with the 1967 machine not paying out is that the seesaw that starts the jackpot process needed a small amount of weight added to the left side to help it return to the correct position. I'm not sure if this will help anyone else to save time.
