Well there certainly has been lots of evolution in the "boop boop" department on recent models. See that salesman one??!? Whadda frame!

My last comment referred to dynamite king. It goes ‘boop boop every time you loose.

A lot of the sansei frames are like that now. Look at juicy honey and or captain or hell even the new Garo frame!

Skip to the 8 min mark to see a jackpot. It seems kind of unfair, but on the other hands I really appreciate the odds being physical and not just computer controlled by a digital slot machine

Ended up throwing about 2000 balls through the Tenryuu for one ball entering the clunes. Terrible day yesterday! Might do a ranking of Digi-hanes when I've the time and if people are interested. These are hanemonos with high-odds slot features, and difficult chackers.

I would be interested in your ranking! I like the digi-hane play format more than I thought I would after getting a Tropical Raised machine recently. These style machines combine some of the best features of both styles of gameplay. Except for Raizinman...eh, not terribly impressed with that one.

    What's a clune?
    And I think you mean 'chukker/chukka' ?

And yes, I would be fascinated with all your rankings, if you have the time.
Is this the only English language pachinko forum where you post and share?

A clune is a shallow cone-shaped tray that the pachinko ball will spin around and around in. At the center are (usually) 3 holes, with one of these being a WIN or ADVANCE, and the others draining your ball. Raizinman and Tenryuu Infinity are the most prevalent clune games atm.

I did use to post a little over on PachisloDB at the time that I had 3 slots at home, but these have now been sold or regrettably scrapped.

what year did they start making these models?
I think it's definitely an improvement! I really dislike the video slot machine pachis.

Is it safe to say these have been influenced by the giant Japanese coin pushers that have many physical auxiliary substations of chance?

I think it's fair to say they are not, no.

Hanemono machines, that is, those machines with wings or arms or all kinds of variations that bring balls into the center 'yakumono' area, have been around in various forms since the later 1960's. They have used all kinds of devices (or 'toys' as the pinball fraternity like to call them) and have evolved over the years into quite complex forms. These 'spinning drop chance' versions are just the latest. The hanemono machine in my avatar is an example of one of the much earlier ones, from the early 70's. I suspect you know something about these already, as you own, or have owned some, already.

IF you do a search for 'hanemono' on PachiTalk, you'll find a lot of information and photos showing the history of these (I used to have a comprehensive website showing all these variations, but unfortunately I moved service providers one year and lost the lot!). And you'll find a lot of posts from me and others around here on just those type of machines, as we shared your dislike for the simple video slot pachis.

If anything, I would say it's Coin Pusher machines themselves which have taken their evolution straight from the pachinko industry innovations. Not the other way around. Japanese Coin pushers were a static proposition for decades, and they've only really started to innovate properly in the last few. By which time of course, pachinko has been leap years ahead.

"Croon" is what a Scottish king wears on his head.

TBH something not mentioned yet (unless Im drunk) is just the nature of the customers with innovation. I reckon if you put these machinesin the UK, they'd get rocked, thumped, and attacked with magnets. Either way, the arcades would be out of money, and with several damaged machines in the process. This is true for the staff as well as the customers; I had an experience on a Revenge from Mars pinball where the staff had bent the hatch that the ball pops out of, and sends it straight down the middle. They'd blatantly bend the nails and render machines unpopular, or unplayable due to neglect or damage.

Yes it's interesting, although the Japanese can't say 'L' so it could actually be, as PekoJPF suggests, just a 'Clune'.
I've got an Ex-pat American friend living and working as a Pachi Pro in Tokyo for more than 10 years - I'll ask him and report back.

We've always know it as a 'chukker' or 'chukka', but I'll check these with Tom as well and report back.
I've always heard it as 'Chukka' when listening to the Japanese say it.

It's always been spelled as "chucker" in English.

Yes, of course it's going to sound different when "the Japanese say it".

    Everything sounds different in "Japanglish".

so what do people think are the Hanemono machines with the coolest center devices? Totally ignore theme, just the physical device itself

I think there is so much more they can expand on with these center features. Once there is one released with a recognizable IP, I probably will have to get it.
