I think it has something to do with the way it does payouts. Kinda like AT and ART in slots.

Look at Type in the P-World specs.

I believe Compirate is saying CR (non-cash), CRA (cash) machines... And they are not interchangeable in the same frame.

But the other questions (and this may be your real question) is, at the casino, what's the difference?

CRA, Cash machine only takes dollars (pays out in cash?) & CR machine takes cards and pays credits?

That doesn't seem to work ^ though because I thought thought that Japan needed those credits to get around gambling laws?

Although it's a Heiwa Lupinasu frame I have a CRA cel that works fine in my CRめぞん一刻 frame

Interesting, sage advice from Compirate as I recall he had a Poochie lumina cell that was a cash version and wouldn’t work in his (or mine’s) frame. I learn something new about this hobby constantly! I didn’t realize CRA indicates cash version. Such are the pitfalls of importing cells without paying very close attention to what you buy! Second time I’ve learned this the hard way (beepy Raizinman #1 &#128514. I’ll be much more vigilant and cautious going forward! In a way I’m glad I got the CR frame due to more cell options and the fact the Tropical Raised feathers is pretty awesome, more so than Tokio Premium In my opinion, it’s getting 75% or more of gameplay so far, still no fever action! Despite getting 3 in a row at least 10 times now! The spinning clam and wheel of dolphins screw me each time I’m close.

I did get a 16 round fever on Tokio which was cool and actually kinda nice not to have to feed the hopper during the fever since it won’t payout. I seriously doubt I’ll go to the expense of buying another CRA Tokio Premium specific frame unless I source one domestically somehow (unlikely at best considering current state of domestic pachinko mass importation). I’ll just enjoy it for what it is since I can still get 75% of the fun playing it without payouts at home.

Don't think CRA means cash. It's still Card Reader, just whatever the A means. I think Clam had it right with 'Lite' version.

A little research and found this:

CR ... It stands for card reader.
It is a pachinko machine that supports IC sandwich, and [COLOR=inherit !important]pachinko machines currently in pachinko parlor are all CR machines.

(mmmm, gotta love those IC sandwiches! )

CRA ... 【Playable】 It is a CR machine.
Although it is specs also called " Sweet Digi " · "Play Pachi" etc., CRA is attached to models with specs with big hit probability sweet, but there are rare things that "A" does not stick even if the probability of big hit is sweet. (Do not attach or not because manufacturers are free)

    CRF ... "F" stands for 【Fever】.
Since Sankyo has registered trademarks for [Fever], only Sankyo can issue a model attached with "CRF".
However, there is also a model which is not attached with "CRF" rarely in Sankyo's model because it is free of Sankyo if you do not attach it or not attached.

    Default Heiwa Amtex cell compatibility?

Haha, I’m just as confused as ever because my Ranma 1/2 hanemono for my Evol frame is a CRA; and it works/pays out just fine in a Star Wars CRF gold frame.... so does CR Thunderdragon Z for that matter. CR Raizinman works* with additional non-stop beeping feature added as a bonus. 🤣So the Sankyo Evol will work with all 3: CR, CRA, CRF. Also as Clam mentioned and Chumsize confirmed CRA Weather girls will work in a CR frame. So there’s definitely exceptions.

I suppose it’s an apples to oranges comparison as there may be individual frame/manufacturer exceptions to what cells are compatible between frames. Caveat emptor!

Check all the connections that connect the cel to the frame, perhaps a wire is loose or a pin is bent/missing. May be a matter of removing the individual cables and checking for continuity on all the lines. If the cables are the same on different cels, perhaps you could switch cables as a test.

You guys are right. Just checked my Sankyo light version of Bodacious Space Pirates and it starts with CRA and Fever is spelled out. My CRF Haruhi lives in a black and silver Bisty frame. I’ve been thinking of swapping them. In my mind Haruhi should be in pink and Pirates in black and silver.

Well the clam and the dolphin wheel finally gave it up tonight and I got some fever action on Tropical Raised! And won the sun tan oil challenge with Madoka as well!😜

Tokio has quite the light show and Kenji Sawada “Tokio” song for the 16 round fever so definitely a cool machine and nice compliment to Julie Pinball!

    Default Heiwa Amtex cell compatibility?

I’ve got to say, Tropical Raised is the new house favorite machine and that’s compared to 30 machines! More fun than Cutie Honey or Julie Pinball dare I say...everybody loves this one especially my girlfriend.👍 I highly recommend picking one up!
