Default Starting out a cabinet - no existing frame

    Hello all,
I'm in need of building a cabinet for my machine, but I don't know where to start it. Currently I just have the machine, here is a shot of the back:

I've seen images of machines that have a frame around the face where a hinge can be placed. I also know that I need a ball catch behind the machine, right now they just fall out.

Thank in advance for any tips or ideas

The balls shouldn't fall out the back. It is a recycler...all losing balls fall into the lower tray, feeding the jackpot. This gives a long playtime without shuffling the balls. Do they fall out one by one while playing? (if you can keep it upright without a frame) Or, do they all fall out at once as you fill the tray? If all at once, your "ball dump" gate may be open. It looks closed in your pic. If open, the latch should be the metal tab on the blue plastic to the right of the jackpot payout tray. It lifts a pair of hooks that allow the balls to flow down to the metal trough at the bottom, out the spout below the flipper. The mystery lever mentioned in your other post is part of the ball dump system. It has a pinhole on the front that allows the parlor staff to dump the balls with a paper clip from the front without opening the machine. (not sure why)
And in case I forgot...Welcome to Pachitalk!

Thanks Pachiwall, let me clarify. The balls just don't fall out the back, but when I release them. So i need something back there to catch the balls when released to fill the top hopper.

    Thanks again for the info.

Cool! That sounds normal. Now off to designing a cabinet so it will remain upright for testing.

Well, said to say, I haven't done anything in 2 years, but I'm starting to get the cabinet build going. Yeah me!

Quick question, what do you use for hinges? What are the hinges that normally come on the machines called? I can't seem to find anything that would mount where the original hinge goes. I could use modern cabinet hinges.

    Thanks

if it were me I would look at a piano hinge.. it going to be the smallest and carry the best load..
