can you show a pic of the back? i also need a handful of nails that are not polished to match. I am missing around 3 and i don't want to polish them all today. There is a plastic piece that was on the edge of the back picture that i would like to see better.

I'll take 10, some to play with to clean to the right level and then 3 to go into the machine. I would like the first curve the balls go through with the plastic cover. I would also like the long metal tub that goes all the way to the bottom on the far left. tulips and tray. That should do it.

    The tulips were called for...
i have to pull quite a few nails so you will get 10+.
    I am assuming these parts:
    07D032BB-19FF-4721-ACA3-4785EC30BBF3.jpegAnd
    9C7A036E-B33B-49AB-AEA8-D5C353E9B49E.jpeg?
i am not sure I can get the tube off intact as it is very degraded. The upper part is rusty, but can be restored. I am still working at getting the tray off... one side is lose, the other is dug into the wood.

It has three welds and if they come apart at the welds i am not worried.

So let me get this straight, I have offered to pay for the machine but i don't get all of the parts i need?

It cost more than you offered to pay. I thought you were just buying the tray. I was making up time and the other costs. I guess it was not clear because I knew I was taking parts for others, like Spyder.

Here is where i stand. the only things i know would work are the nails and tulips. All other parts are a gamble that may or may not work. So I will ask you, would you pay 25.00 plus shipping for only a few nails that you know will work and everything else is a chance??

Would I pay $25 to a generous stranger to help me acquire a difficult to find part that requires them to coordinate with multiple buyers to meet the sellers price, deal with the seller, pay in advance out of their own pocket, pick up a machine, disassemble the machine, pack and ship parts, and dispose of the machine carcass? Yes, I would. If you're not interested in the tray I will pay your portion and have Rumpled send it to me as a spare part because I am sure that I will need one at some point in the future.

well said.. and to be honest i would pay ALLOT more to the "generous stranger" then to a random person via yard sale or craigs list...

These metal cups. Prize pockets? I really need one...willing to buy all if you or no one else needs them. I have a few '50s era machines using those. One is replaced with plastic (I can't imagine it being correct) and that one is my "need", any extras are simply "wants". PM me to discuss details and prices.

Thats odd...I expected the pics in the "quote" to have been included. Here is what I was talking about. and Once again...as little as one, or all if not needed! Of course, they are easily damaged while removing.

I think your most critical part is the tray that is broken on yours. The mounting holes can be drilled to match. Question is, will original holes be visible? tht problem can be addressed pretty easily in a number of ways. I would be willing to pay $25.00 for the tray alone...if I were trying to salvage the machine. Broken front tray, to me is a dealbreaker on buying a machine of this vintage...as parts machines are few and far between.
    Just my 2 cents.

I keep reading the word "tulips", but I don't see any tulips on this machine.

My bad, they are “chrome pockets” ... I just figured they were tulips based on where they were and that they paid out jackpots.
    My newbieness begs forgiveness.

I am going to try to remove as much as I can without destroying it, and will let you know what is available. I am going slowly and carefully. Lucky for me the nails are all smooth!

Not busting on you ...just thought there was another parts machine I was unaware of. Sounds like the chrome pockets are already spoken for.

    Not correct...AND more than $25.00!

On eBay now. I can't copy and paste a link to it for some reason. $45.00 free shipping. My biggest problem with it (other than $45) is NISHIJIN cast into the front. I don't have any trays broken bad enough to need it, just one with a crack.
I wouldn't want the word Nishijin on another brand of machine...but would rather have the wrong brand name rather than a broken tray! I would always be looking for the correct one, but knowing that chances are slim!
As far as resale value is concerned, the biggest hit is the cost of the tray! When you deduct the $45 from the sale price, then it don't seem worth it. Most people wouldn't even know that it was incorrect. In addition, they would probably prefer an incorrect, working tray as opposed to the correct broken one. I would keep the tray, and include it for any future owner.
