Default Fever Queen "Fever Mode" problem

    Hello all.

Bought a Fever Queen pachinko a few days ago off of Facebook Marketplace. I had been looking into getting one and this one appeared less than an hour from my house and decided to grab it. The previous owner didn't have anymore room in the house and wanted to get rid of it. I want to thank this forum site for helping me fix a problem with the payout mechanism (it had fallen from its mount).

The problem I'm experiencing now happens all the time in "Neo Queen" mode (red lights) and sometimes in regular "Queen" mode (blue lights). When the slots start spinning and the reels are going to start a fever mode (the reels are still 'teasing', 2 reels have stopped and the third one is now spinning slowly), the game's electronics reset. The music stops immediately. The reels stop spinning and reset, the mode changes back to "Queen" mode (blue lights, similar to turning the machine on and off again) and the game continues on like nothing happens. I can continue to shoot balls, even my queued up spins continue to happen, but instead of being in Neo Queen mode I'm in regular Queen mode.

I have seen Fever mode start up a couple of times in Queen mode, but after a few balls in the bonus door the same thing happens with the electronics resetting. I have NEVER seen Fever mode in Neo Queen mode, most of the time the moment the 3rd reel starts teasing a potential start of a Fever mode the soft reset happens and the game switches to Neo Queen mode. Maybe Neo Queen mode takes more power? Sort of at a loss.

    Things I've done so far:
    - There are enough balls in the machine to payout.
    - There aren't any balls stuck.
    - I have reset the memory and reset the payout mechanism (I do that each time I turn the machine on). Problem still persists.
    - All of the power LEDs are on.
    - I haven't seen any error codes appear.
    - Thinking it was an overheating issue, I put my big box fan behind the machine blowing air on all of the components to help cool things off, had no effect.

Sort of frustrated with the whole experience so far, any suggestions?

How many amps is the transformer? A low amp unit won't be able to power the game when it goes into a bonus.

Thank you for the response and thank you for the welcome to the site I can take a look when I get home at the transformer. I'm hoping that there is a label of some sort on it.

Talked to the owners again for some more background about the machine and they got this machine out of a China pachinko parlor almost 15 years ago and haven't made any modifications to it.

Pachinkos are meant to run at 24vac, Japan mains power is 100vac, problems of games shutting down and restarting can be caused by irregular or incorrect power supplies

Any recommendations for new transformers off of Amazon?

Based off of what you all are saying it is probably a power supply issue. Had the same problem with my KISS pinball machine when I got a multiball, it would reset.

Not sure what frame you have as various versions of fever queen.

Is there a VA rating printed anywhere

I'm back, with LOTS of pictures this time!

Front, Queen Mode (blue lights) -

Front, Neo Queen Mode (red lights) -

    Front Markings 1 -

    Front Markings 2 -

    Front Markings 3 -

    Back -

    Power LEDs -

    Logic Board (I think) -

    Transformer -

    Transformer Markings 1 -

    Transformer Markings 2 -

Power stuff located at top right of the back of the machine -

Random Green Wire coming out of the top of the reels in the back(probably unrelated) -

As far as the transformer goes, the markings in the picture are all that I saw on it. I unscrewed it and looked on all sides of it with no other discernible markings on it.

Hope this helps. Any advice on what transformer I can buy online?

Made a post with some pictures in it, waiting for moderator approval.

Long story short is that there is a sticker on the front that says NYK. The transformer has a serial number on it, but no other information as to what kinds of voltages it expects in. There are some other pictures of various other parts, too. Hope the post gets approved soon so that you guys can take a look at it and point me in the right direction.

EDIT: Lost my multimeter so I haven't been able to check the voltages, but I have a new one on the way.

It's certainly powerful enough for a machine that age. Looks simple to wire up too.

Fingers crossed that solves the issue. At least you can eliminate that.

New transformer came in on Friday. I got the 175 VA rated one. Probably overkill for this particular machine (it's a BEAST), but since I didn't know what the VA rating was for the old transformer I didn't want to take any chances! Installed the new transformer on Friday and got to test it on Saturday (the wife and kid were sleeping and I didn't want to wake them 8) )

Final verdict.......... it WORKS! Not only that, it works like a champ! Spun the reels for about an hour and got a jackpot. Lots of sound, lots of lights, lots of pachinko balls! SO glad that it finally got to work. Pics below:

Here's a clip of the jackpot working, too!

Shout outs to Drunkenclam and compirate for all the help and advice! What a journey this has been.

Now to move onto bigger and better things such as finding a cabinet, better way to make the machine hold more balls, and maybe figure out a way to build an automatic ball lifter? I'll look around the site for answers to those questions and I'll close this thread in a couple of days. Thanks guys!
