Talking Thanks, Vince (AUTOSTOP) - ALADDIN PROBLEM

I reported a problem to Vince regarding the credit function on the AS-04 autostop. Here is his response:

"I'm pretty sure the problem stems from a voltage spike on the power supply
when power is turned on or off. I was able to repeat the problem even when
the micro-controller was unplugged from the circuit board. The Sammy
machines have VERY poor filtering on their power supplies. I tried adding
additional filtering (larger capacitor) without luck. Also tried using a
diode to act as a surge suppressor (no help.). I'm sending you is a
modified AS-03 board. The standard AS-03 board uses normally closed relays
for use on IGT machines. I built yours using normally open (NO) relays and
tried it numerous times on my Sammy. It worked perfectly every time. (The
relays are not as sensitive to voltage spikes as the ICs are. The AS-04 uses
an IC to switch the higher voltages on the coin sensors.) I will probably
add this as a standard offering (AS-03-NO)."

Now, that is what I call superb customer service! Thank you so very much, Vince!

    Wow, that is great!

I keep considering buying one of his plug and play kits.

I have touched just about every version or Autoslot that Vince has produced. There have been a few issues and a lot of learning during the time I have been dealing with Vince and I can say that his support has been PHENOMENAL !!!

The 1st cable I got from him had issues. I had a wide variety of machines and it didn't work well in any of them (it may have been damaged by the 1st machine I installed it in.) Vince launched me a new and improved cable immediately and send me a pre-paid box to return the 1st one to him. The second cable worked in most of my machines, but not the Sammy/Aristocrat or the IGTs. When I reported this, Vince went out and bought Sammy and IGT machines like mine so he could figure out the problem!!!!! Within a few weeks a new cable showed up at my house that worked great in the Sammy machines, and this one had the special Pachitalk coin sensor wires hanging out of it and instructions for the credit mod

The credit mod started a whole new chapter of learning and Vince's product line has expanded to cover vitrually every variation of Pachi he has gotten information about. Every time there has been an issue, Vince has beeen right on it.

I was blown away when Vince came out wth the DIY kit. What a great deal for $9. When I found out that it was a direct swap for the pachisloUSA chip, I was very pleased. I ordered a pile of DIY kits and swapped the chips for my pachisloUSA chips.

I have seen the error that DuaneV described, although on my machine it only occurs on power-down and it only requires a soft-reset on power-up to clear. I mentioned it to Vince and he gave me lots of good help. We tried a few things, but the problem persisted. He went back to work and found a solution to our problem and now there's one more version of the credit mod board available to us

It's worth mentioning that all of this credit mod work to date is Pachitalk exclusive. For basic autostop function, he doesn't need all these different versions. So-far the credit function is only offered to Pachi-junkies here on this forum.

In the last shipment of stuff I bought from Vince, I got some of his new volume controls. These are great too! I bet he'd even make up a solder-free volume mod kit for those who are uncomfortable with soldering, if we ask real nice

Vince (Autoslot) is on my short list of truly exceptional vendors.
