    Thumbs up 1975 circuit racer

Here are the pictures as it stands. I am starting a thread as I figure I am going to have a few questions [before I send it off to a professional wtf am I thinking] about cleaning this puppy and and getting it going.

It used to work. It has a plug. Laugh away.

The control board goes in that box. Is your missing the board?

That box is nailed or riveted on to the back, so it must have taken some effort to get to these...

Your CircuiT machine is similar to a Power Flash or UFO. There is (on the OEM game) a separate hinged piece of plywood, that rotates out, to allow access to the circuit board.
There is a spring latch with a thumb screw on the left side of the back about half way up.

I think member, Mr. Al worked out a replacement printed circuit board with modern components and posted on PT for this machine.

The OEM circuit board had a mechanical drum component that is obsolete. Not uncommon for this machine to be missing that board.

On mine it must be the butterfly nut. I can see some components behind it, but not through the filth. I have to finish up the dolphins (I stripped a screw so bad taking the case apart... mother... only one! Something has to hold up paint and clear coat... ) first and it will be next to clean. I hope I can get the replacements from Mr Al... and then all the other stuff from Rival lol... this may cost more than my silversmith habit.

Mr. Al has moved on to other hobbies. You can try to connect with him through PM which should send him an email. If that doesn’t work please let me know. He and I are friends and talk on a fairly regular basis. I’d be happy to give him a call on your behalf.

Yes, he responded to my PM, and is not working on Pachinko anymore... so other than the information already here, scrounging around. He did mention he used arduino. I don’t know anything about programming circuit boards, so totally at a loss...

i may be passing this along to someone someone who can handle it. I will clean it up before I ship.

Trying to get a person locally who can program circuit boards... negotiations for price are starting. It will be on the clean list next. Seeing the pulmonologist soon. Lol. For some odd reason my asthma is way worse.

The circuit racer has been sent on to an owner who can do justice to it.

UPS was fairly hilarious... the kid there was young and had never seen one. He asked how to spell it, and my “onomatopoeia” response drew a blank. He said it looks old, I said yes, 1975, he said wow, 50 years old. I feel very old now.

I cant wait to see the final product! Thanks for all the help everyone!
