    Default Hopper going backwards ??

    IMG_20180620_112412.jpgIMG_20180620_112417.jpg

Okay got this machine and it was really in bad shape , cleaned everything and fired it up. Takes tokens and runs . Ran up 50 credits to see if hopper would work. Well got a jam error and was trying to figure out why . Pushed the yellow button on the control box inside and the hopper would turn counter clockwize mixing the coins but would not shoot out coins . When I pulled it out and removed all the coins and manual turned it clockwize all coins would shoot out in the right direction . Kind of stumped on why it would ?? Be running backward .

if its a DC motor, you should be able to just reverse the wires. Or maybe someone jammed the plug in the wrong way, so it runs backwards

Or that's the way a Baltec clears a jam, just sayin'

Disconnected the wires and plugged back in and ran a test sill get hopper error on machine and the hopper won't turn, watched it as I hit a payout. Pushing the yellow button will reverse the turning mechanism and runs but won't run the right way to spit out coins .

That implies that the hopper was wired correctly to begin with but the signal from the processors, through the pay to the motor isn't working.
Best put the motor wires back as they were.
Then check your connections from the processor. Remove and reset the connectors.

Call me stupid but I'm not sure where connections to the processor are in reference to the hopper . The hopper wires are connected to the main box with the switches that turn on the machine . So where do I go from there ?

There should be a loom from the PSU where the hopper plugs in to the machine's main processor board. Check the condition of the lead and reseat the connector at each end.

I'm afraid you have a "BIG PROBLEM".

Your machine is made by Baltec. The power supply and hopper, in your machine, are from a Yamasa machine. I have no idea how they re-wired it, to try and make it work, but I guessing it will not ever work correctly, until you get the correct power supply and hopper.

Here are some pictures of the correct power supply and hopper.

I guess the hopper it's self isn't much of an issue as long as the motor voltage and current ratings are the same. Most just use a photocell to detect tokens exiting. The psu sounds a bit worrying though.

Maybe with that mix match the hopper motor is just wired backward. It's a DC motor, so just change the wires around if that makes motor kick out the coins.

Well I just had my hopper out to clear a jam. Count the wires going to the hopper, if it has 5 that means there is 3 for the counter sensor and 2 for the motor. There is no feedback to CPU to tell the CPU what way motor is turning. The CPU can reverse the voltage to clear jam, but still does not know what direction motor is turning. The only thing that I can think of, if reversing the wires don't work is a magnet has come loose in the motor.

the most comon reason for this is that fact that the PSU box has a fault with it. The motor is fine or it would not turn in either direction.
The processor sends a low current low voltage signal to the PSU, to make the PSU supply a higher current, higher voltage to the hopper motor.

As the jam button reverses the hopper ok.

    either

The processor is not sending the signal to the hopper.
    or
The signal is not getting to the PSU due to a damaged cable.
    or
The signal is reaching the PSU but an internal fault is not sending voltage to the hopper motor.

Well it looks like you have a better handle on this than me. I thought the motor just ran backwards all the time, not only half the time. I agree now there is a problem in the CPU switching polarity of the voltage to motor.

...or is it the way Yamasa hoppers run? My Yamasa machine will run the hopper backwards. I just assumed it was the way they cleared jammed tokens and if something more was involved then the parlor tech would swap the hopper and trouble shot the questionable one later.

With Wayne-Ooo's info below there could be fix but it depends on if you want to spend the money on it for a possible success or bust. Ebay member Keep4safety has many parts for sale and might be able to help you out with a hopper and power supply. http://stores.ebay.com/Pachislos/Hop...=p4634.c0.m322

I also have a Baltec machine with these same parts as shown by member Wayne-Ooo which I've thought about parting out. The only thing is how did the prior owner wire up your machine. Some additional pictures of the wiring from the power supply and to where they go would be helpful.
