Default Just back from Japan with a pachinko!

    Hello
I've been several times in Japan
And I was interest to own a modern pachinko
I own an old one from 1975
So on my last trip to Japan, when I saw United allowed me 2 check-in luggage, I start shopping online for a machine.
A friend from japan give me 5 vendors website address.
The first one I contact was not near Tokyo
So I check an other vendors, near Tokyo this time.
I exchanged many e-mails with this vendors but was complicated at the end because I ask many questions about size and weight of the machine and they didnt have this specific machine stock
I was on my way to Nagoya and one of the vendors was in Nagoya, 3 km from Nagoya station
Stop at their shop one afternoon, they show me the machine and parts, I took measurement and weight the components.
This shop had the machine I wanted: Sanyo CR Sea Story with T-AARA

I told them I will return next Monday
I check the dimensions and figure a plan how to do the packaging
    On paper, plan look good
But I was still unsure If I should buy or not
The next Monday, I return to the shop, Still unsure to buy
At the shop, I try the machine and we start the packaging!!!
The shop let me do the packaging
I told myself if I don't buy I will reget later

To respect maximum weight and size of luggage, I need to separate the machine into 2 boxes:
1 box with the back section and 500 balls
1 box with the glass and front door and frame de-assembled and 500 balls

At the end, I had 2 box size 156 cm, 20 kg and 18 kg
Max size is 158 cm and 23 kg

The shop send the 2 boxes to Narita airport on time for my may 30 flight.
At Narita, I pick up my 2 boxes and check-in at United counter 100 feet distance
Pick up my boxes in Washington for transfer to Montreal

When I check-in at United, the Japanese guy ask me what was into my 2 boxes: I told him a pachinko machine
You should have been there to see his eyes and smile open of joy!
The guy was asked me which machine: I reply CR Sea Story with T-AARA
The guy reply: Oh! I know this machine
The guy place tape and sticker all around the boxes "FRAGILE"

    Now back home
    I re-assemble the machine
    Everything look good so far
I scare the glass can be broken but no dammange
Next is to buy 24 Volts power supply
    Then play!

Next time you come out you will have to join me and Peko for a session.

You got a good machine. Fairly newer (09-10?)

that was a Pretty cool way to get a machine back.

The machine is from 2013 as I found from sanyo website
I will look for more details-informations inside the machine cabinet
Overall, the machine look like new except the pink from door color look a little aged.
I will try to post pictures

i choose this theme machine because I had played in the past with this machine: I won a little, i like the sound and music

Sea storys are always a safe bet. I've had sea story in the Med twice shipped to the UK. Fun though I brought AKB48 because I won on that in a parlour.

That color looks exactly like the ones at my local parlor (which also look faded a little)

I love the way the shooter knob area is on those!

Goobie777: Which city do you live?

I've seen this machine in okinawa (december 2017), toyohashi (mai 2018) and nagoya (mai 2018)
Pictures of machines in Toyohashi city

Yes the color is little faded, I may repainted the door pink color but not for now, I have work to do on my house first.

When playing, the position of the shooter knob give me neck pain. I bought an other shooter. i will be able to hold the shooter in my hand when playing.

I’m in the Kanagawa area. A lot of the parlors that still have that machine are like that. There is one in Yokohama that has quite a few of them.
