    Default Jammed Jackpot Bar

I have almost finished my complete restore of my first pachinko machine (Nishijin B)! I tested it out last night, and aside from the brass nails needing some minor adjustments, it WORKED! At least temporarily...At this point the jackpot lever at the bottom of the machine isn't working. The jackpot bar on the right side appears to be jammed and the weight of the ball is not allowing the jackpot to release. Any suggestions on what may be going on?

Try turning the bottom axle piece (secured by 4 screws) 180 degrees.

See if the jackpot lever was slightly bent during your restoration and now is touching the wood and getting hung up.

It is pretty jammed though, so I'm not sure it is hung up on the wood. I can't force it manually.

Have to ask, enough balls in the ball tracks above the jackpot to allow the mechanism to move freely?

Agreed, it sound a lot like you're hitting the 'out of balls' lock out. I usually stick a screwdriver through the hole to hold the lever down if I'm just testing, just use the weight of the screwdriver to hold it down.

OMG. I'm a work so I can't check it right now...but if that is it...I'm a complete idiot! I've spent so many hours taking this apart and refinishing it that I must be losing it. Will post pictures of the finished product as soon as it is complete. Thanks.

Nah, happens all the time. Get focused on the issue you're dealing with, forget about the lockouts. I do it way more often that I care to admit, more often it's the other lockout on the ball ramps near the payout I forget though.

Speaking of the payout, if you moved any of the wires for the light behind the center feature, make sure the wires aren't hitting the payout arm. I had that happen, drove me nuts, because it wouldn't lock up every time, just when the arm hit the wire just wrong, and it didn't complete the cycle. Next payout would be the one to be backed up. Moved the wire, haven't had that issue since.

If that's not it, look for where the ball gets stuck, and post a picture.
