    Default Bulbs & Balls!

i now have 2 nishijin b machines, both have 5 bulbs. i understand i would be happy with 7.5w incandescent bulbs.
does someone have a link to buy these exact ones or do you have some for sale? 2 bulbs need to be the e10 mini.

I'm not a cheapskate but i love to save money when I can. I looked into ball bearings (now I know it's a bad idea)
I stopped by a local bearing business...now this quote is for 6,000 balls. 3,000 each of 11mm and 7/16. so funny I had to share!

I get my bulbs from Newark w577-5 or g387 for the mini's
12 volt but work good with 9 volt wall adapter.

There are a few sellers on eBay that sell 10 packs. I'd post a link but it won't be valid for long.

Depending upon the bulb placement, sometimes incandescent look better than colored LEDs; you can find screw in base, colored, LED bulbs that work with 3 to 12V on eBay as well.

I buy my bulbs and sockets on eBay from a very good seller, NeonBrad. I'm pretty sure you can do a search for him as a seller or just search for pachinko light bulbs. He always has some items on eBay.

Hi, I'm new to this, too. Just came upon a Nishijin C and it's always been a dream of mine to refurbish a vintage Pachinko machine.

Are ball bearings/non-replica balls always a bad idea/deal?

I found this slingshot ammo for about 33% less than I could find anything else. Bad idea?

As the older machines are purely mechanical, using weights, seesaws and balances, using slightly different size or weight balls might cause an issue with payouts, causing either not to payout or a ball jam or not resetting the seesaws after payout.

That makes perfect sense, but I needed someone to say it for me to realize how obvious it is. Thanks!

when restoring my Comicgo single shot form the '50s, the jackpot tried to payout...but always needed a little help with a gentle press of a finger. I was using real engraved balls. When I made a replacement part out of a Listerine bottle to replace the broken chute that winning balls exit IT WORKED! I'll explain shortly. First off...the pics are shown without the tin parts for clarity. One piece wes the extension. The other is a cover. I thought I had a before shot...but can't find the thread I made on it.
But I digress...The broken plastic allowed the ball to sit off center on the rod that activates the jackpot. This slight offset changed the pressure (weight) the ball was applying to the lever. Possibly added friction as well.
So...vintage machines are weight sensitive as DC stated. Not sure if certain types (eg, '50s, model A, model B etc) are more sensitive than others, but I would expect that moderns are less sensitive to weight...probably more to size.
The answer is not new...but HEY, PICS!

You're better off using original pachinko balls. Trying to substitute, you can find some at comparable prices, but no real assurance they will work. On the other hand, you can grin from ear to ear when you see how much cheaper the real balls are compared to the price you got from the bearing manufacturer, and KNOW they will work!
