Default "I'm An Angel" arrived today

The "I'm An Angel," or "I'm Angel" arrived via FedEx from Vallygaming this afternoon.

It was well packed with no damage to the box. Nephew Kyle came by and we shuffled three machines around to make room for the new addition.

The machine is very clean but the paint job on the top isn't top-notch, however, the rest of the case looks fine. No chunks out of it, and no scratches on the plastic. The interior looks great, almost like it is lined with a thin aluminum! Neither of us noticed a musty smell, or smell of any kind.

We were both a little puzzled by the 'fourth reel' which looks like a blank, silver reel. We loaded the hopper and plugged it in. Some of the lights behind the first reel won't light but we didn't have time to check them out...yet. Nasty weather here and he has a 30 mile drive to get home.

We checked the level and changed it from one to six, put in 53 tokens and pushed the joystick. The reels ran smoothly, stopped smartly and flashed many lights behind the reels, except the first reel where only the top lights are currently working.

Ran a few more games when the 'blank' fourth reel flashed, showing a plumb. Sure enough, that's what he hit! It may also flash an angel, fly the angel from right to left, then speak in what sounded like Spanish! It also may flash a replay symbol. And of course, there is the bomb!

Then the devil popped up on the fourth reel and WHAMO, Bach's Tocatta & Fugue in D Minor! We both got a charge out of that! The sound is great, what I've heard so far, and even the llittle three position slide volume controls seem adaquate. Right now they are set in the medium position.

I''ve only run a couple hundred tokens through so far, so I can't really tell you much more about it, except this is a really fun machine! Much better than I expected. I think this is a sleeper. Not on the level of a King Camel or Spin Luck (accordinng what the SL owners say), but still a 'light' sleeper anyway.

I'll report more on it as I learn more aabout it.

What I've heard so far is really top-notch, Dattia.

I forgot to mention that this machine is built by Olympia, and sports the Yamasa Reel Whine, that can be cured by a good wine, drunk, not sprinkled.

Come to think of it, my TWIST is an Olympia and it does make more noise than the BABEL. Lucky for me, I don't need a good wine...any wine at all will do.:smirk:

I have to agree, to a degree anyway, Dattia.

I prefer the reaally GOOD wine, stuff that costs at least a dollar a jug.

I can't stand that wine in a box. You people have no swave or deboner. Not to mention it's so impractical to drink while walking down the street. No I'm a bottle person. I can just unscrew the cap, take a swig and keep right on hitch-hiking.

    Tulsa, you're really high-class!

To change the subject from wine back to the machine...

I was WRONG about the volume controls! I hit a BB last night and while the lights and play was fine as frogs hair, the sound was LOUD! During the BB I set the volume to its lowest level (HA!) and it still shook the walls! Gotta get on the phone to Syscom as soon as they open.

I shoulda known as soon as I saw the little slide switches that they weren't going to be enough.

Also, the first phrase Kyle and I heard actually did sound like Spanish, but all the rest is Japanese, as I'm sure the first one is too.

More later...after I finish reading all the new posts and I go feed it more tokens.

Well I certainly consider myself a true pachi-lover. Wouldn't you? Would I commit the kind of time I spend on both my machines and running this site if I wasn't a true pachi-lover?

Lets then assume for a moment in time and space that Tulsa is actually a true pachi-lover and this is in fact an Arby trueism.

No, I would suggest to you that not all pachi's are created equal and there are simply some stinkers out there. I have found ways to love even some of the more obscure pachi's I've had for things like, "that one has a great error music" or "nice case design" when the playability has been so-so.

Enter the K1 Punch Rush. This is IMHO by far, conceptually, the worst pachi ever made. This is the most boring thing I've ever owned, played or even gazed upon. It is not fun, it does not have good sound effects or even slightly decent music. The case design is poor the only thing it inspiries me to do is toss a tarp over it and throw it in the garage.

    IT SUCKS!

    IT REALLY SUCKS!

Eleco should be forced to buy it back and the guy who designed it should be removed from his position and go back to sweeping the floors which is where I'm sure they promoted him from to start with.

There is simply no way even a moderately intelligent lover of pachi's can find something of value within this machine. NO WAY! Well maybe as a parts machine for an Azteca Legend or an Outlaw but that would be it!

I would change "K1 Punch Rush" to "Wai Wai Pulsar" because I don't own a K1.

Then again, the Wai X2 is an OLD machine.
