Talking New to Pachinko, just bought first machine!

I run a Japanese rock and visual kei shop here in the states, and I decided I wanted to add a pachinko machine at our booth at conventions. I picked up a SANKYO CR FEVER X JAPAN machine off yahoo auctions, and I'm super excited. It's on it's way to the warehouse we use for importing, and should ship here in 9 days. (The prospect of shipping costs worried me at first, then I remembered we ship 100+ lbs almost every month)
    https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t555200328

Where's the best place to buy silver balls? Engravings would be cool, and I bet people at our booths at anime conventions would get a kick out of it. I'm reading about all the accessories like hoppers, ball lifters, and counters. I'd like to reproduce that pachinko parlor experience as much as possible. Can I get your suggestions? I'm new to all this.
(Note: I am no good at building things, and need an out-of-the-box solution for things like a ball lifter.)

Hello RarezHut and welcome to the group

Nice find, you will have fun sharing this with your guests! I've found this seller on eBay to be the best source for balls. They have new, used and cleaned, plain and engraved. I'd suggest getting 2000 of the used and engraved ones if it fits into your budget.

I'm posting a couple pictures from your link, hope you don't mind. In time the link will be dead from the auction site and others will want to see your pretty machine

I'm looking at balls on yahoo auctions. I wonder...would anyone be interested in us importing balls? I can get 1000 for about $20
I think a battle counter would be cool, but I'm clueless what to look for. Also, holy crap ball lifters are expensive.

    List to get:
hopper for balls people put in to machine
    hopper for payout balls
hopper for prize balls (is this built in?)
    Battle counter (?)

sorry if there's a lot of questions. My vision sucks, and it's hard for me to see all the details in a crazy-busy picture.

There's always an interest in a cheaper source for balls and other accessories but you also want to figure in the shipping and fees from within Japan and also to your location, then to the end user. Two cents a ball is a great price at $20 per 1000 clean balls delivered. Having something in place already might save you a lot.

As you ask about hoppers for balls I presume you are interchanging the word hopper with a tray? Ball/token trays (also known as dollar boxes in the Japanese auctions) come in many sizes and colors. Players might have a tray of balls to play from and/or use a tray for collecting their won balls. There is a hopper built into the upper back of the machine for the winning balls to pay out. These come out in front to the upper tray (below the glass) and will over flow into another tray built in below that one. Buttons are in place to manually drain the front trays downward to a tray or container placed underneath. The upper tray in the front is where you load the balls to launch onto the play field. You will also want a tray or something to catch the waste or shot balls that fall out the bottom rear unless your machine has been modified.

There is an addictive element with these as one may become three in only months

ps: Are you aware of the voltage difference between the US and Japan? Also these run on 24VAC requiring a proper transformer. Be careful not to prematurely plug it in when it arrives.

I've already got my eyes on Persona 4 the Pachinko, Ranma 1/2, AKB 48, and Cowboy Bebop. I have to prove this is a profitable venture though, and it'll pay for itself within 6 months or so.
(I wish there were more machines for Jrock)
on second thought, maybe Akawa Nanase over AKB 48. It's not just about what I like, but what'll be popular at anime cons. P4 is a no-brain ER, Ranma was my first anime and I can't NOT, Cowboy Bebop is an eternal classic (plus it has a corgi and I have a corgi), and Akawa Nanase is as close to Jrock as Koop gets. I might snap if I hear AKB 48 for 9 hours every day. I REALLY want Babymetal, but my pockets aren't that deep. I'm really surprised bands like Malice Mizer, GACKT, or Versailles don't have one.

What kind of transformer we need? Link?

Errr. I might be the bearer of bad news here. So please don't shout at me

The title description of the auction link provided has the word circulation in the title. So there is a chance your internal ball paths have be altered to make a cyclic machine. Depending on if changed and how. And should you want to. It is possible to repair the changes

For the transformer for use in the U.S. you will want one that has 120 volts input and 24 volt AC output being these machines run on 24VAC. Some may ship with a transformer already attached but it would most likely be rated for the Japanese standard of 100 volts input. So you could be running a higher amount of power into it by using one already attached which in turn may or may not affect your machine. (Additional input from others would be greatly appreciated on this.) I change mine out with new ones if for nothing else some peace of mind.

You will also want to consider the amps needed by any machine which is either stamped on a data plate or on one of the rear plastic covers. For my newest machines I had picked up some 15amp transformers like in the link below. I happened to find a guy unloading four of them so I got them cheap but they can get expensive depending on what you find. I hope this helps some.

Look for parlor transformers on YJA. Some can power up to 4 or more machines at the same time.

My machine is being delivered tomorrow! (Along with about 200lbs of Jrock). I'll see if Lowe's or Home Depot have a transformer that would work. I'm super excited!
Ill be doing a big unboxing video and livestream if anybody wants to see. I'll try to post the link here, but it'll for sure be on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/rarezhut/

Just gonna say, I have 3/4 of these machines, and the Cowboy Bebop and P4 machines proved the most popular last year at SJ, with a dude throwing down over 300 dollars to continue playing on my P4 for a couple hours. Not sure about 6 months, but if you take them to cons and charge per play, they will turn out to be profitable pretty soon after purchase hahaha.
