Default Pachinko ejection port, tube or funnel?

I want to know what most people are doing for the ball ejection port on the back of there pachinko machines. Do they use a special tube or funnel to make sure the balls go in a repository? Or do they just let it fall in a tray right from the source.

I let them fall out of the back and into a ball lifter so they are transported back up to the reward hopper. No tubes or funnels.

For collecting balls in the rear I happened to have a bunch of these bins around. A piece of cardboard reduces the bounce and some noise. This works well for me until if/when I ever put a multi unit collection system in place.

They fit just right for all of my machines with the extra board in back over the feet for leveling off the area. They are about $2 and can be found in home centers and all over the web but some sellers only do case lots online. I have one for each machine and they easily slide in place.

This is pretty much what I do but without the leveling board so sometimes you get a stray ball falling out. I tried to use a tube but the balls just started to get backed up. Automating this refill process would elevate the enjoyment factor by a lot.
