Default A purchase 6 1/2 years in the making

About 6 1/2 years ago, my friend and former Pachitalk member GBJAX passed away. I wasn't able to purchase any of his vintage machines after his death but the other day this popped up on FB marketplace so I bought it in memory of him.

I always liked this setup because of the twin backgrounds. The cabinet and machines have seen some abuse since the last time I saw them, but I'm glad to have it anyway.

The cool thing about this setup is the machines are built into the cabinet, and that it has keys to open the doors. The cabinet needs refinishing so I'll be sanding and staining it lighter at some point.

    Enjoy!

A very nice setup and a great way to honor your friend by taking care of these.

Looks like a "home parlor"! Amazing find! Pretty cool that the "twins" have identical backgrounds.

It's a great tribute to your friend. Something that was meant to be.

Finally got around to working on these.

Both needed repairs to the reward hopper. Took some weld-on #16 and glued them back together as best I could. The 'no more war' has a chunk missing from one of the top corners, so I took some plastic wood and filled up the missing area. I'll sand it down when it's dry, and it should be good to go. Other than that, this one is in good shape.

The Flower had a huge ball jam, backing the balls up into the pockets. Finally got that cleared and found out the cause was from the rebound bumper being disintegrated to the nail and there were little rubber pieces in the innards. Will need to figure out something for the lock since the back is stripped off. The plastic bit that sticks out to hold the wire for the bottom hopper shut off is broken, but not a big deal.

Now they just need a good cleaning, and they will be ready to play (once the bumpers are replaced).

If somebody is still making, or has, bumpers let me know!

I use an eraser. Easy to cut and about the right bounce.

Max over a Pachinko boy is doing some with a 3D printer. I bought a few from him several months ago and was really impressed with the quality and the shapes he already has. Definitely worth a look
