Default Sankyo Battle Vader International Power Issues?

    Hi all,

So I have a client who has a Sankyo Battle Vader Pachinko in India, His machine has a 8AMP USA 110 to 24V transformer. I've recommended he use the Eagle Transformer that Drunkenclam has recommended before to convert local power to US 110 to power it since he can't/find get an appropriate transformer for his (220v) local power. Now after all that when he powers up he gets no lights or sounds BUT the center ball spinner rotates - it looked slow to me on the video he sent me? Common sense thinks that he blew the fuses but he claims the fuses look okay but I don't remember where they all are.

So after picking Ian's brain on PM he told me to ask the group. My client has language issues so I'm translating which if you know me is sad.... so !

Any help or pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Bill

My first step would be to measure voltage after the second transformer. Second, I would ohm the fuses. It's possible they can be bad without looking bad.

Ditto. The machine is rated at 250va. Which is 10.4A . The 8A US 110-24. might be struggling in supplying the correct power. As I said in my PM. I use a transformer the next size up from the machine spec.

I only know of the fuses to the right of the power switch (bottom left corner) is there another?
I'll pass this info on and see what he can do, not sure if its an 8AMP transformer too it may be more but again, language is a problem here.

From what I can find, India runs 50hz power. Running a 60hz transformer at 50hz is probably not helping matters either. I agree with bumping up the transformer size.

So far fuses are all swapped out, he's locating a voltmeter to check transformer output..... anyplace here in the States that can supply a 12AMP transformer or anyone overseas that can source me a correct 220v to 24V one and then I can tell him to use that instead?

    Sorry but "182K240: 300 240V @ 1.25A ual Primary 117/234 VAC 50/60 Hz " is the correct unit for India? This is 10A ?

And thus he won't need that Eagle power converter we previously discussed? ie: this will replace the USA transformer and plug directly into the wall??

And you know he just came back from Tosche Station.....

Its doubtful you will find a plug and play for that spec.
You would have to install your own mains plug and either connect the machine to the tranformer.

Sorry, Thats the wrong link, I was having trouble whilst doing it from my phone, so I'll try again

Its a dual winding transformer, so its actually 2x 110-12vac. But you link them together to get 220-24vac

Well he checked and IS getting 24V out of the transformer (I forgot to ask what size it is, damn) but says the fuses were all good but changed them anyway and still nothing but that center spinner slowly turning!?

Sorry, but I have to ask. Did he measure it with it connected to the machine and the machine turned on, or with no load?
