    Talking Ball lifter finally arrived

After only taking 2 days from Japan via EMS, and 8 days in our inefficient British customs the silver ball lifter machine has finally arrived!

I had to pay an additional £34.76 in taxes and duties to collect it as well as a 50 mile round trip to the parcel depot.

Total cost including shipping and duties was around £180, not too bad Even though the chrome's a little rusty!

I'm pleased to say it's fully working and I've now ordered one of Dave's card reader emulators to make it all pretty authentic!

I was going to add a photo of it, but for some reason it seems impossible to upload one on my android phone!

A lifter and the emulator is the must have combo for pachinko!

Hopefully it should be a fully functional star wars or Spiderman installation by the end of the week! (I have both but only have space for one machine to be out of storage)

    That sounds a familiar story.

Even with the lifter and emulator installed it's difficult to keep up with a fever on it.

Is it more likely to have multiple fevers if you deliberately don't win anything when it goes into one?

The videos and earsplitting noise are enough for me lol (it stopped me enjoying a nice album on vinyl whilst playing &#128514

    Sorry..must have missed this post
The data counter stores information about the ratio of reel spins to fevers. Then displays it in various ways. But a bar graph is common.
Can be interesting. But most of us have them for the additional flashy lights

Are they readily available? Sounds like a good arduino project.

Lots of different models available on Japanese websites. Some people by 5 at a time and ship them. Then sell one or two them in their own country to help reduce/recoupe the cost.

It's possible to make one. If skilled. You just need to monitor the 3 main outputs from the machine. Although some machine now have more.
Also available is USB adaptors to plug into a pc instead. But no fancy lights on that one.

I have used the ones in your second link when starting out with my first machine. They operate the same but are super easy to install. A bit costly sold as one each but a great option if you don't have soldering skills or tools.

Just use these pots with the quick smoosh connectors, yes that's a technical term!

Find your speaker wire, clip it connect one side to each side of these and your ready to go, very simple.

You can probably get them locally but ebay global shipping would make this a cheap ship cost. And no I'm not the seller.

Do you have to modify anything on the pachinko machine when adding a ball lifter

it should just slide in the back.
depending what model you have. I did have an issue with my Daita lifters that if you position them straight. they foul of the backs of modern machines due to the amount of circuit boards and animatronic, so you have to put them at a slight angle and extend the feed chute. As most lifters are the silver brand ones in the orange metal. they have a spring tube at the top, so this isn't a problem.

the orange machine works fine, but when playing, the lifter fills up with all the balls dropping into it, and the shooting tray above it goes empty---if I add bas to keep playing, it will continue to fill the lifter to overflow. How can you adjust the machine to send more balls into the shooting tray??

So you want the machine to payout more. To refill the front shooter tray. You either have to win more. Or if it's a CR machine. Get yourself a Daverob dongle.

I just installed the orange lifter, and it works perfectly. When low in the top tray, balls are lifted up from the lifter, but as the balls are paid out, more balls go into the ball lift than the shooting(Middle)tray----This fills up the ball lifter tray and as you add balls to the center tray and continue play, the ball lifter flows over. The balls from the playfield can fill the lifter up quickly and empty the shooting tray. Is this he way the lifters should work.??? or am I missing something?? Before the lifter I had to fill the Top tray often. now with the lifter I have to empty the lifter often and put balls in the center tray. HELP

My suggestion would be to buy a DaveRob dongle. This allows you to use the ball loan feature on the machine. You push the button and the machine sends balls from the top hopper to the shooter tray. As the top hopper level goes down the lifter sends balls up. With a little trial and error you'll find the right number of balls to recycle through top to middle to lifter and no longer have to manually shuffle balls.

Hmmm. I've seen many lifters sold with different wiring and switches.
How many external switches does yours have. Or is it just mains supply
