Default Help with Jackpot dump on Single Shot machine.

Have you ever torn a single shooter? I've pulled off the plastic covers and removed the recycle tray to get a better look at the mechanism that dumps the jackpot.

The problem before the tear down was that the jackpot ramp returned very slowly if at all. Now that I've gained access to it I oiled things but it still seems too slow.

I need someone who really understands this part to take a look at my video and tell me what you see. Any help appreciated

(The video is a little slow in uploading so if you can't see it just check back in while)

    Hi

I don't own one of these machines but isn't that little bar with the 2 screws some sort of a counter weight system, if I am not mistaken all you need to do is loosen the screws and slid the bar over to the left to speed up or slow down the up and down motion of the tray.

I think you are correct. There doesn't seem to be any reason for such a complicated connector there accept that the extra bars are adjustable counter weights. However they were already pretty close to the max. I moved them to the max and it may have made a small difference. Hard to tell. Maybe that combined with the oil will fix my problem.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

I removed the two counter weights and confirmed that that is what they are. Without them the rods are still connected the ramp won't dump at all. Moving the weights along their slotted paths doesn't seem to have much effect. I could simply add a little more weight in the form of a couple of washers.

    Hi

That would help. Two other things too check would be the curved edge of the pendulum hook thing (I don't know it's name) that is at the end of the long arm. You want too check the curved edge for rust, if it is not smooth you will get drag from the two parts sliding together, and the other thing to check would be the pivot pin and pivot pin tabs of the tray itself to make sure nothing is bent under the tray.

Are you talking about the thing the jackpot ball rides down at the end of the long arm?

At this point all of the plastic is removed so that arm is unencumbered.
