Here is a short video showing my single shot machine. I think I need to disassemble it and need advice.

To remove the plastic, I would try grabbing the nails by the head with pliers. Turn and pull out.
Max found these pliers and I like them! Engineer Neji-saurus RX PZ-59 Screw Pliers

The ramp that won't rotate freely back. It is pivoting on a nail as an axle. I would look closely at that. The nail / axle could have been bent at some point.
Fix that and it will work reliably. Pull out that nail / axle first and see what is going on.

I would recommend that you purchase this eBook. I am doing a complete restoration for the first time, and this book has guided me through each and every step. It is a valuable resource that will answer ANY question regarding assembly.

That is an excellent ebook! I've met the author in person and I've seen his work.

Neji-Saurus pliers are literally the best pair of pliers you will ever own. I'm almost certain of that.

    Here is the standard size.

Here is the small size. (great for tiny nails holding on trim parts)

Here are the large ones. Pointless for pachinko but awesome for working on cars. Can't tell you how many rusty bolts I've been able to free with these.

    100 machines and counting...

I was able to remove the plastic by using pliers on the nails. I had to first use a screwdriver to pry up the plastic enough to grab the nails. I've removed the lower tray and several other mechanisms too.
