    Default Sankyo 1992 - 1993 Stellar Series Evolution 2000 7&15

    Hi everyone,
Yep, yet another person seeking advise.
I am a Sr. electronics tech, and have been in electronics sine 1972 building radio kits.
I bought a working more modern Pachinko Machine.
I have restored vintage Pachinko machines, but this one is more complex, and I am enjoying bringing the broken sections back up.
The ball shooter knob that sends the signal to the servo motor needs cleaning. I have the servo motor off, but need to get into the user knob. I am guessing the 6 nuts on the back takes the whole front assembly off for fixing?
Anyone have a service manual for this series?
I have uploaded some pictures of it.
I just don't want to open something and springs go flying. :-P
Thanks for the help if you can.
    Bob

A manual will probably be impossible to find.

Pachinko's in parlors are replaced every couple years, and when they break, they are sent to the scrap heap.

Never intended for home use or to be end user serviceable.

I took a shooter knob apart one time, and don't recall any difficulty with it.

    Good luck with your repair.

    and... Welcome!

I think there's a screw under the knob that holds it to the front. There isn't really anything inside that should fly anywhere if it's opened.

The way they build these, they are very well thought out, that is for sure.
I figured there most likely would not have a service manual, but just had to ask.
Ok, then I will just wing it.
Thanks for the response back! :-)

Thanks for the info on the screw under the knob assembly. I didn't see it, although I should have known better.
On the back, there are four wood screws and three nuts that allow the whole assembly to be opened and removed.
There is a micro switch in the knob that tells the servo motor to operate. The servo motor only operates at one speed, with the shooter knob adjusting the strength.
There was a cold solder on that micro switch.
I cleaned up the whole assembly, and put it back together. Very well thought out on the mechanics.
This Pachinko seems more complex in play than most. It looks like it is progressive with numbers 1 through 8 that light up on each side, inside the play field.
More switches are needing to be cleaned since the Pachinko seems to be stuck in one mode. Fun, fun, fun! :-)
Thanks for the info! Greatly appreciated!

Not progressive. The 1-8 on the sides indicate the type of bonus. When you match up 7's or all fruits, one of these numbers will light. Odd are better than even. An odd number bonus means that your chance of another bonus is greater after you finish the current one. This can go on for some time if the numbers continue to come up odd. An even number bonus pretty much plays out and the game goes back to regular play.

That 'thumb' switch is so that if you have spins stocked up (lights above LCD) you can stop shooting but hold where your shooting. Also during a bonus, a certain number of balls can go into the bonus door during each round, then it closes for a second then opens up for the next one. If timed right, you won't waste balls when it's closed. In a parlor, you paid for those, you don't wanna waste em!

Thanks for the info! Greatly appreciated.
Will help trouble shooting when the game play is known instead of guessing.
There was some deep scratches on the shooter knob, and was able to buff those out using the three part plastic scratch removers. Cleaned right up! :-)

If you enjoy those? Just wait until you buy a newer model. The effects and game play are a lot of fun!
