How'd you get into pachinko/pachislo?

There have been threads on members age, occupation, other hobbies, etc but i dont think there has been one on how we got involved into this hobby, if theres already a thread like this then delete this one. So lets know how everyone got involved in this stuff.

Walked into a Sam's club and saw the machines. Went home and did some research on them. And then bought my first one off of Ebay. But as you do the research on these things, you sorta get sucked into them. Know I have three pachislo's and three pachinko's.

i have seen the machines at a gun shop, gun shows and the flea market, my brother bought one a few year ago.

i never really was interested until the guy at the flea market gave me some tokens to play gung gung.

after playing a handfull of tokens i hit the jackpot and was hooked from that min. on!!!!

a week later i won my first one on ebay a golgo13 last summer for 60.00 plus shipping.

before it came i had won 3 more from milt with reduced shipping.

the rest is history!!!!!

I won 3K at a local casino on a $1.25 investment. I took my money and left. I decided on the way home, I'd like to have a slot for the house. Just something to play with and study and hopefully understand them a bit better.

In searching around I found that in Oklahoma I could only have 25 year or older machine leagally but I could have a newer pachislo. I didn't like the idea of an antique machine for purposes of study, so I bought a pachislo instead.

When i was 15 i saw them on ebay from milt but never bougth one then last year i bought my Tatsujin from Pachilsousa for 65 and then i join PC and no one was year so i came here and now i have 8 pachislos and 2 pachinkos with no plans to stop buying more

My wife and I enjoy going to then casinos on occasion and started looking on ebay years ang. I had been buying Campbell soup collectables on there for my wife. Found the pachislo machines and liked the prices. Won an auction from a private seller that never sent me my machine and had to go throught the hassle of getting my money back. That is one reason I generally only buy from people who accept paypal. Got another machine from ebay the arrived with the light cover broken, but machine was playable. That machine eventually died and was sent to the graveyard. Do not remember the name, it was okay, nothing fancy. And that was the start of this interest. It has been four years ago this month since I got started down the pachislo path.

Well I mentioned before that I found my first one searching for "Fifties" paraphernalia on e-bay for my game room. Since my TWIST was described as "50's Rock & Roll Slot Machine", it came up in my search. I picked it up for a fair price. NOW I WANT MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dattia, I only found and join this board in Feb.. Found it doing a google search looking for a part for a machine that was not working. Thanks goodness I found this place and did not shell out for the one that so many people here know about. And just to let you know at-slots helped me out too and got me the part I needed.

I've been into video games and pinball machines for several years. Lately I've been seeing pachislos at a few of the auctions and decided to look into them to see if they were worth selling aith the vids and pins. I found this group through google and now I'm addicted! I only own 2 machines but have 2 more on the way. Now you people have convinced me that I need a pachinko as well. I hadn't played pachinko since I was a kid. My best friend got one about 30 years ago (his mom worked at Pier One Imports and brought one home from there) but I wasn't very interested then. Now that I've seen the newer machines with the big video screens I'm just getting in deeper and deeper. Help me.......

We converted our formal living and dining rooms into a gameroom. I wanted a slot machine and when searching for slot machines on ebay discovered pachislos. First I had ever heard of them. I did buy a Haywire Vegas type slot machine and then got the Twist pachislo. They are very addictive and I purchased six more. Then I got a pachinko and would love to have more pachinkos. Unfortunately we are out of room now. I'm considering selling a couple of the pachislos to make room for another pachinko or two, but it's hard to part with any of them!

Nice Buy ! Thats actually how I fell into this pachislo mayhem. I was looking for a metal Slug 3 Cart for my Neo Geo MVS cab and found that Pachislo the other week that went for Retarded Money ( 500+ I believe ). I actually had that one you won in my Watched Items but forgot about it. eh i will get one sooner or later. I went a bit crazy with my start into this hobby buying 11 Machines in 3 Days. About to play Fire Drift now. Havent hit much yet so Im due. I think my favorite currently is Neo PalnetT but I am sure I will like Speed Racer more once I fix the Sound Issue. Mike : )

Now I have over 50 Machines and will get into pachinko as soon as I make room. Mike : )

I saw my 1st Pachinko machine when I was about 16. My brother was in the Navy & brought one home from Japan. It was new at the time but would now be an antique flick handle. I thought it was way cool.

Fast forward 30 plus years & I just decide I was going to finally get one. Its always been sort of an old, low grade dream to own one of those things, thing.

I ended up with a Penguin Pachinko that didnt work correctly & Im still trying to trade in, a Popeye Pachinko that Im still trying to pick up, & 4 slots ( 5 since this weekend ) before I knew what hit me.

Pachislos probably saved my life, no shi...no kidding.

I had quit playing keyboards in rock bands after about 27 years. Looking for something else that was exciting to do, I was seriously considering powered paragliders or ultralight aircraft. This would not have been a good thing for a lot of reasons, which most of you can probably figure out for yourselves.

If you can picture yourself flying one of those things, you should also be able to picture yourself plummeting toward the ground in a ball of collapsed metal tubes and dacron sailcloth. Nope, playing keyboards was never that dangerous, except for certain clubs in the mountains of central PA at certain times of year.

I ended up spending some of my "mid life mad money" on a big screen TV, and some for a trip to Vegas. It was after the Vegas trip that my wife and I started shopping for a Video Poker machine for our home. Searching eBay, I found that we could get 3 or 4 Pachi's for the price of a nice Poker machine. That was all the information we needed.

I admit that I'm not as serious about it as some of you, but we have a lot on our plate here right now and the machines really can be therapeutic, you know, getting your mind off of the other stuff.

The machines are fantastic and I like this forum a lot. Even though we'll probably never amass a huge collection (there's only so much room we're willing to give up for them), we love the machines we have and Lord knows you can always get your questions answered here at Pachitalk.

I had a high school friend who had an antique slot machine that I always liked. Three years ago, I checked the internet out of curiosity to see what they were going for. I stumbled across pachislos. I bought my first machine (a 3-reel Aruse Gran-Ciel) without ever seeing one in person. I'm probably not the only one who found pachislos while searching for information about American slots.

Sometime around 1998 I think, I decided I wanted a slot machine, but didn't like the prices of the Vegas ones and found a seller named Demos777 and bought a pachislo (Milt didn't own them at the time, but the previous owner was just as good). It was called a Dancing Tom Tom. It was neat, but I had no idea about any machines. I just wanted a slot machine. Ended up having a guy offer me twice what I paid (can't remember how much it was) and sold it. Then about 2 years ago I think and started in again! Now we have a forum!
