Default 1976 Sanyo Comet II - What should the payout percentage be?

This is my second Pachinko machine and one thing I noticed is that the payout percentage is too high. If I start with 30 balls it's almost impossible to lose them. I get too many jackpots.

I have read that I can adjust the nails and I'm going to look into that but I'm wondering what your experience is as far as payout percentage. Also how much does skill play into it? The only strategy I'm aware of is to try to shoot the balls more toward the center. Shooting the balls quickly so a lot are on the playing field at the same time also seems to increase the percentage but this might be an illusion.

    Thoughts?

i find most "stock" machine's are tight... unless they have been obviously adjusted.. i always set my machine to pay at or near 100%. lets face it there for home use and no one likes a looser.. so i set them at a nice balance so there fun to play, to tight and no one understands what the point is.. to loose and there boring..

    My 2 cents

And how does one "set" a pachinko machine? When I do my restorations, I pull all the nails. Once I start to put them back in, I always check for clearance. I also try to spread the ones above the tulips and pockets as wide as I can. Am I missing something else?

you can adjust the nails above the nails above the tulip to direct balls to the tulip.. just spreading the two nails above the tulip looks poor.. My 2 Cents...

instead of bending 2 nails to there max bend 10 nails a little bit.. ball on a stick is your friend

Thanks for the input. I agree with the spread too far look. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything!

You might find the following link helpful, it talks about nail bending strategies:
