Question Glass or plexus-glass or Both?

What goes in the door of a Nishijin pachinko machine? Mine has plexi in the inner, but there also seems to be a slot for an outer glass or plexi. Should both be glass?

You only really need the inner piece. Plexi is good for sound deadening, glass if your a purest, both panes if your a real purest! The outer piece is supposed to prevent cheaters with magnets from manipulating the balls.

My preference is glass because it is more scratch resistant, but it is also noisier when the balls hit it.

It is really a matter of personal preference and possibly circumstances. I prefer the tink of balls on glass as opposed to the thunk of balls on plexi. Plexi is safer if you have pets or children that could potentially knock a machine over. Get a piece of glass and insert it into the inner slot and put you plexi in the outer slot to protect against breakage. If you don't like the sound of the balls on glass than swap the 2 pieces around and you'll know if you are a glass or plexi person moving forward.

When I had my vintage, that had a plexi in the inner rail, but I found it lacked strength and bowed inwards causing balls to jam, I put the plexi on the outer rail and put glass in the inner rail.
