Default Another person looking to identify a vintage Nishijin

    Hello,
we had this machine when I was a kid in the 70’s, I used to okay with it all the time. Hone for Xmas and my parents have dug it out for my sister’s kids to see. Neither of my parents can remember where they even got it. Anyone recognize this one or know anything about it? I can take more pictures if needed. We’re hoping to get it lighting up again but right now it has no power source. I think a 9 volt might work? What about replacement bulbs? Not sure yet if they’re burnt out or not.

    Thanks!

hearty machines.. yes a 9 volt will work...

bulbs on ebay most of the time... remove them and test them with the 9 volt.. actualy unscrewing them and puting them back in can fix poor contact isues..

    pics of the back please...

    and of course

Thanks! Nine volt worked and bulbs work. Unfortunately the metal contacts that cause the bulb to light up as the balls push through after a win, those are bent way up so they do t touch the metal bar meant to push them together. I’m afraid trying to bend then back with break them. Maybe I can get a replacement switch on eBay.

Go ahead and bend them back. They are pretty rugged. Contacts may need a very light sand with fine sandpaper for them to work nicely.

    They bend pretty easy.
If you get another switch, don't buy a 10$ or whatever 'pachinko switch'. You can probably get something more generic (which the people selling some 'pachi-specific' parts are using) for less than a buck.

    to Pachitalk!

What you have there is a 1971 Nishijin Model A Kyoto Aoi Umi (Super tulip). Kyoto was the factory it was built in. Aoi Umi means blue sea hence the blue front plastics. Super tulip is what I refer to the center feature as.

    100 machines and counting...

Nice machine! If you use a wall wart, you can change the bulbs to suit whichever wall wart you use.
